Interest in a Nor Cal Haltech/PFC tuning session With BDC

I am trying to set up a NorCal, possibly in fremont at ATP, or at Dyno labs in San Ramon, (other suggestions are welcome). The dates would be 4-30, and maybe 4-31. Brian would likely be in California through Mazfest 5-7-05(so other dates that week are possible), but dyno time would be your respnsibility. This is in the Planning stage, but the date if it happens is firm. I need to tune my race car before Mazfest at BW Raceway. Brian is looking at his calender, and I should know for sure if he is available by midweek at the latest. The price is 300.00 each plus dyno time, plus we would need to put him up for as long as we need him in town to tune. We would split actual costs, so the price ultimately will depend upon the number of participants. I want to know who is interested, and we can go from there. In my Opinion, Brian is extremely thorough compared to some services offered in the past. All feedback is welcome. Thanks, Carl

Hey guys,

I too offer tuning services for Haltech owners, id like take this opportunity to let that be known. Im also available for to travel to basically anywhere in the world it would be needed. My fee is also 300 per car, plus the cost of air fare and lodging. As you have indicated, its better to have a good number of cars so those costs can be split.

If you need more references please have a look at the
Official Haltech Forum
, my nick there is THR RX7, and also you can view my site for more information.

Thanks.

Adam, I've got the info. in my e-mail at work, I'll pm you tomorrow with the details. I've got a pfc, and from what I've heard, Dave does really good work, met him at Thunderhill two months ago and he seems like a knowledgable, nice guy.

I tried Dave(ghetto), he never returned my calls. I am still working on a tuner, so BDC, and Dave Gibson (fc3s.org) are the guys I am talking to. If Dave(ghetto) would call me back, I'd like to talk to him. 707-696-2705. I emailed, and called his funky VM. Make me nervous, that he has not returned my email, or my call though. I am sure he is busy, but still...

No reason to be nervous, dozens and dozens of us have had our cars tuned by him. You just have to be patient. If you're in a rush, by all means you can go with anyone you like.

I went to his shop last weekend and I saw that he was composing a response to you but was distracted by the car that came in, maybe he forgot to finish.

edit: misspelled nervous.

Hi Carl, I DID replied to your email, and gave you my contact phone number. Thats how you got my number to call me.

The voice mail you left for me was very distorted. Probably bad cell phone reception.
I was not able to determine who called, and only got partial phone number to call you back.
I did hear the area code 707 part, but did not expect that number is from you. I apologize, I thought you are local, may be 415, 650, 408 or something.

Feel free to call me any time, I am usually pretty busy all day, but I will try to run to the phone. But towards closing (7pm or so) is probably the best time to reach me, we can chat longer

who is BDC? If you go with Ghetto Dave you will be in good hands. Aside from tuning, he does some crazy custom work

Well, IF Dave has time, I will use him for sure. As of Tonight, his schedule is booked pretty tight, so I am hoping he will have time. Other than that I have a big problem, Race car, NO TUNER.... I am 1.5 hours north of SF, so I need someone that is willing to fly in if I cannot get Dave. I need to have the car done by ~april 30th, so I can get a feel for the car before towing to BW for MazFest. Not sure who else there is if Dave can do it, I am golden, but not knowing sure sucks... Of course money is tight as I try to wrap the car up, so I can't just fly someone in from Texas etc unless others need to get tuned. BDC is Brian Cain. He is mainly known for his 1/2 BP turbo motors(87GTR), and other machine work. Anyway, I guess I'll just go work on the car, and hope Dave can do it... I'd be willing to fly someone up from So Cal, but that is about my limit funds wise. By the time rent the dyno, pay the tuner, etc, it's a pretty good amount of $$$.
