I need a job!

I'm in high school student looking for a part time job to support my extravagant spendings.

Pay doesn't have to be awesome, seeing as to how this is going to be my first paying job. I just need SOMETHING. I'm still going to school so my work hours are mostly after 5PM, and weekends are fine.

Just wondering if anybody had any suggestions? Anything is cool. It needs to be in the SF Bay Area.

Oh, I never thought of that. That sounds like a very nice place to work. I'm going to try to hit up as many of the 200+ Starbucks in my 10 mile radius as I could.

I have experience with SQL Database/Programming, and all sorts of other computer stuff. But the problem is I don't have any certifications and it is hard to fit a certification course (which ultimately leads to a test and my cert) in my schedule. Also fluent in Chinese.

Like I said before, first paying job, no big hopes. Plus I'm only 16.

and who goes job hunting on the rx7 forums? :lmao:

Don't worry about it, I really don't feel offended.

I know that my education is the most important right now but I'm confident that I can manage a part time job. Many of my friends have a part time job that they juggle between school and sports and they're doing fine in each.

What does Wacky do?

edit: NVM, I'm not that desperate...yet.

Cool. i wish i had a head like that on my shoulders at 16. i guess i'm just a bitter old man now. @16 i was more worried about getting the highest score in the video game than anything else. what a wasted youth... I blame the parents.

yeah, but dont aim too far below your potential. You might be sucked into a shitty job and not be able to leave. I worked at walmart for 13 months a while back. i did over night stocking, and it hurt my back and social life. Leaving that place was the best thing i ever did.

Your really good with computers, so go to temp agencies. do a few test on the computers( trust me when i say they are beyond easy) and they will place you in whatever they have. The better you do on their pathetic test, the more willing to put you in better paying positions.

i pretty much showed them that i could type 35 wpm, got 98-100% on their MS word, excel, and something else test; which are only 30 questions each, and you can re-do each question until you get it right. and they email the test to you, so you can do them at home. any question i got stuck on, i just googled it and got the answer. And they placed me as a data analysist and i'm making 18/hour. Everything i needed to know, i learned on the job.

i'm signing up for summer classes at my local community college. i see real educated people at my work and it inspires me to actually make something of myself. i just wish i could of learned this sooner in life...

But yeah, temp agencies is where its at when your young and looking. Plus a lot of companies ONLY hire thru temp agencies. it saves them time and money when hiring people. and if they dont like how someone is working, they can simply dump them. so work hard and show you want to be part of the team. Dont be like me and surf the rx7club all day :P
