I need help
I have a 1986 base model and im currently trying to install a new clutch, I've removed my exhaust and the housing that covers my u joints and **** I need help on the next step haha first time I've really worked on a car and it would be much appreciated if someone would help because this chilton book is not helping. Thanks -IllmaticFC
- Unbolt the driveshaft from the diff.
- Either remove the driveshaft from the trans and prepare for trans fluid to drain, or unbolt the trans and remove the driveshaft + trans together. (Have a friend spot you because the trans can be heavy)
- Remove clutch and pressure plate. Possibly get flywheel resurfaced.
- Install new clutch.
- Reinstall trans/driveshaft.
- Replace trans fluid.
- reinstall exhaust.
OR....
- Pay a shop to do it for you.
Thats the general idea, there's a few small things I'm sure I'm forgetting.
