Angry I Crashed My Fc!!!

wow guys i hate the fact that california has most of the worst drivers in the world ( yes i know im exagerating) and well i guess since my fc got toalled, i fall into that category. the story
8am monday late to work
i head on the 405 north bound
as i exit off bristal a BMW decides to come into my lane while im still in it
so... to my left i have a wall and to my right is a
stupid, ignorant, apathetic women (not being sexist, just mad that
she can't see a RED car, c'mon last time i checked, red meant stop)
coming into my lane, i can't slow down cause she would still hit me ( thats how close she was) and i can't go left ( there is a wall)
so i speed up to pass by.
light is green, it"s a blind left and the mercedes decides...
"im not gonna move"
i SLAM the breaks (yes i have abs) turnning the wheel left anf right!
to use the to also use the tires to slow me down, not justr breaks.
.....`n o t e n o u g h t i m e...

i hit the mercedes rear bumper!!! ( a mercedes of all cars!!)

so i rush out of my car to see if everyone is ok, at this point i don't
care at all about my self or my car
so im running toward the car and i can see that his car is barely fazed, just a dent...?
AND THEN I SAW MY CAR

it was totalled, still driveable but i can clearly see the the frame damage was bad!

then it turns out, the guy towing my car, races aswell and had a s4 turbo II shell

i was amazed, so now im in the process of transfering over my stuff and selling old stuff to get my money back. so uh...ya thats my story, just thought i should it with the community...

he is a racer too?! whoa hoe!

You live near UCI? I think I might have saw you. I was walking to Albertsons next to UCI to pick up some dinner for my gf and I threw a triangle sign to a red s4 with s5 tails and you just nodded like they wanted to suck me off.

lol wow nice responses. the shell, i paid for it, arm and a leg...$700...yes it is an s4 turbo II, however i dont care for the s5, im happy with wut i got, and this next one is gonna be good, i can swap over just about everything, and since it was already 85% gutted, i dont have to worry about much at all. my engine is still good. got fresh fluids, i got all material to fab the solid mounts (engine and tranny mounts) just gonna be one sparco speed seat, momo wheel, and plain driver neccesities.

i took out more from the shell and engine, no ac, interior, speakers, radio,
engine has no ac, power steering, (trying to fing the dual alt pulley so i can remove the smog pump and still the the h2o pump effectively, no clutch fan.

much more in plans, gonna be racing dec 1st, and hopefully competing on the 6th, hopefully i have enough money for the events. if not, then i'll just have to wait for the next event at willow.

yes

we must convert you to the manual seat belt side... hahaha....

but at least no one was hurt in the accident only the cars... material things are replaceable, repairable. but you can't bring back people from the dead. its good your still alright.. look at it as an oppertunity to learn more bout FCs and what you could of done to avoid the accident. look for growth here...

I'm so confused by this thread. It's like you're looking for sympathy for an accident that you admit was your own fault.
can't slow down cause she would still hit me...
so i speed up to pass by...

i SLAM the breaks (yes i have abs) turning the wheel left anf right!
to use the to also use the tires to slow me down, not justr breaks....
So instead of taking the hit (which would be on their insurance) you try a hair-brained move to accelerate hard toward another car ahead of you hoping that they decide to turn before you get there?... They don't, you rearend them hard, and the accident is now officially your fault. I have no idea of what the heck you were trying for with the wagging the wheel back and forth. Ever heard of trail braking? Your tire contact patch only has a certain amount of friction available and you're just wasting it trying to get the car to turn.
wow guys i hate the fact that california has most of the worst drivers in the world and well i guess... i fall into that category.
Hmmm... Now we're onto something. Next time when you're hiding in the blind spot of another car you might consider the brakes or the horn first rather than trying to go ripping past them in time. I know you say you couldn't slow down but if you were ahead then the BMW driver would have been in your blind spot so you wouldn't have seen her coming.

Sorry you wrecked your ride but I'm so confused by this post that I just had to ask what were you going for in choosing to publicize your folly? Glad no one was hurt. Is there a volvo station wagon in your future?

it looks like you have all the answers. Not!! lol
FIrst ?
No i was not looking any form of sympathy, but if you came to me and told me "hey man i just got into a car accident" even if i didn't know you. i would atleast be kind enough to see if you and the other people were ok.

The pupose of the story was, just to inform the guys, espeacially the guys i have met in real life at autobacs or RRR, know what has happened to myself and car.

"So instead of taking the hit (which would be on their insurance) you try a hair-brained move to accelerate hard toward another car ahead of you hoping that they decide to turn before you get there?... Second....we dont call people "hair-brained" we are not in some cheap 80's film.
i was not in her blind spot. for on the 405 south bound, the bristal exit has two lanes. from the freeway i was behind her, she wen to the inner lane (right), the exit then turns to a three lane exit as soon as it viers right. i moved to the left lane to exit left towards southcoast plaza, so she maybe made a mistake and wanted to go to SCP, but failed to realize that " hey the guy that has been behind her on the freeway and exit was still driving on the road"

Next, its not jerking the wheel, im not trying to have it ejaculate on me! before i began racing i studied about it, i first began drag and then Rally. you dont know how to race if you dont know what i am talking about n e ways. i admit i am new to drifting, but i grew up drag, grip and rallyracing in guam, hawaii, japan, and north california. Drifting in japan was not that popular in japan when i was there. however i am not new to drifting, because in rally, we slide alot. if you know any thing, the brakes are not the only mechanism one can use to slow or stop the vehicle. DO you know what they are? DO you know how to position your vehicle when you know you are going to slide into a wall or object? i know, but why should i share my knawledge, when i had to do all the hard work.

turning the wheel into a perpendicular position while traveling forward uses the tires tread to slow the car down, however you want to turn streight then opposite, to avoid actually turning the vehicle. so the car is not turning, just understeering. understeering slows the vehicle down. that is why drifting is not a timed race. while drifting, as the driver is countersteering, the front tires are understeering aswell, slowing the vehicle down. you should know this...

it also sounds like you think my car was perfect.
wrong, i cannot honk my horn, i had four blown shocks, and left rear brake caliper was leaking. by brake byass, i can stop my car, by loud exhaust i can let others know i am there, i have driven on blown shocks before i am not afraid. if you go to willow springs dec 6 there will be a race (626 drift), you will see other guys there too that aren't afraid of blown shocks.

LAstly about the BMW in my blind spot.

i know u have an FC with an ls1, wow, is your racing seat so big that you can see through you rear hatch, it is not like our cars came with a c pillar. all we have is a a and b. yes the b pillar is wide, but not wide enough to hide a whole car. or maybe you are short and cant see over the shock towers in the rear, but there is no blind spot on the fc. i have a sparco speed seat and i am 5'11'' i see just fine and i love the fc for the reason of visual ability.

sucks man..

what even sucks more s4 tII with a NA motor lmao
sucks tho this is all out of your pocket huh?

sounds like something that could have been avoided but just didnt go the way you planned it.. I been there b4, in my 240 back in 04, i was at a 3 way and about to make a left to go up the hill, and some guy in a ford econo van coming down the hill was coming very fast, he had his blinker on to make a right *to turn onto the street i was coming off of* and i could tell he was going to understeer, so i floored it to try to get out of the way, and he hit my rear quater panel.. *if i didnt try to move, he probably would have nailed me/drivers door*.. then the ****** ran and i tried chasing him but the panel was rubbing into my tire.. took his plate numbers down and called the cops.. later called insurance, they told me the plate numbers where invalid *maybe i wrote em down wrong i dunno, try scrambling for a pen and paper while your chasing someone down at 60mph trying to keep your car straight*.. and they didnt do anything *liability* and i just ended up having to fix my car myself and the insurance company decided to put that into my cars record as an accident.. I might as well have not reported it and kept a clean record for the car ...

oh and to add to the flame .. s5 > s4, the extra hp compensates for the extra weight lol

1st glad to hear no one was really hurt. But what are you doing driving an unsafe vehicle on the road. If you are such a racer and have such vast knowledge of racing techniques, then you would understand that a properly working braking system is crucial for any type of driving. You would also understand that blown shocks will also decrease your braking performance. Do everyone a favor and make your car safe before bringing it back on the road or track.

I will agree on one thing with you. Most of the drivers on the road today have no clue on how to drive. The fault here lies in the local government and the requirements to get a drivers license.
