Help! Where Do I Go For Body Work???
Hey guys,
I'm bringing my FD up hopefully at the beginning of November once my swap is complete, and I am trying to find a local shop in/near the San Diego area that I can trust to install my Burnout wide-body fenders, '99 OEM-replica VIS carbon fiber spoiler, and do a re-spray on my car as a whole.
I don't have CRAZY cash to spend though.
How much should I expect to spend?
Thanks,
Yoshi

Bump for more info, Los Angeles for me... looks like old posts on this subject are nowhere to be found I just got a new battle scar on my car (of which there are plenty), now I'm thinking the paint needs a refresh. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to paint/body. Anybody think it can be done locally for $1k? I know you get what you pay for, but my car spends some time on the track and a lot of time in SoCA roads and parking lots, so it's gonna get f*cked up again anyway... no point for me to drop several $k into a paintjob. Maybe I should take it down to Mexico

not sure if you still stay near south bay, but these guys do great work and are very reasonably priced.

http://blendingcolorssystems.com/ is my uncles business. He is located in Mission Valley. He may be able to help you or they could point you in a good direction. They have done work on my brothers RX-8 when it got hit by a girl. Hope this helps.

Thanks for so much feedback guys!
I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to getting the FD up here hopefully right at the beginning of November if all works well.
Unfortunately, I leave for deployment right after Thanksgiving! On my birthday... x_X
Thanks again guys!
P.S. Even though I don't have the FD up here YET, I'd love to meet up with some of y'all. There is MBM FD with '99 rear spoiler, stock everything else visually that is stationed on 32nd street where I am...almost caught up to him on the highway today...
I'm tryin' to make friends/contacts in the area for when I get my car here.

To install fenders depends on fitment and how much time is spent fitting anywhere between $200-$400 if they are quality and bolt right up with no issues maybe a little face lift here and there I will just do it with the total of the paint mentioned above.
So a reputable person with good shooting and finishing I can see them charging you $1500 -$2000 for all of it.
Of course if you want diffrent paint-ppg HOK etc... it will go up, also the clear brand you get will also make the price go up. If you want to change the cars color will go up and if you want the trunk, door jamb and engine bay sprayed that will affect the price too.
Hope that helped you, I gave up bodywork I only do my cars and Fris's .
Yoshi you in the navy ?
