Help: JDM Registration in California

I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out. I know of a JDM RX7 in Canada, I was thinking about buying the car but don't know how/if/what I need to do to get it registered here in California. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated!!

to get it legally registered, u'll need over 80k =) Why spend so much money? With that amount of money, get yourself something exotic. Do a research on the forum, there are plenty information, which will lead you towards a big NO NO on importing JDM FDs to the state. Trust me, not worth it at all!!!

there are a few ways to do it but im not going to go into great detail. all of which will require you to spend substantial amounts of money. 80k is a bit of a high number but....regardless its not worth it.

even if you register it in another state youll run into future problems. and honestly recently (at least here in SD) they have been really pushing to get these cars off the roads.....they just impounded 2 rhd silvias and squished them.

all those "legal" skylines from motor-ex have been crushed except a select few that got grandfathered in only after the owners paid some serious money.

there is a loop hole that we have known about for some time. but someone finally has decided to take advantage of it. the guy is an ex-cop in OC. maybe hed help you but he wont give up his legal reg cheap.
