GSLSE tranny or 2nd gen tranny

Either my throwout bearing or clutch went out or my tranny is gone. My tranny was leaking gear oil from the front were the engine and tranny meet after I heard a noise coming from my tranny. Could this be my front tranny seal? I need help!! Does anyone know of a shop near Norwalk/Cerritos that can do a 2nd gen tranny swap into my 85 SE? 2nd gen trannies are more available than an SE tranny. Unless someone has an SE tranny. let me know. Email me at hector8393@msn.com if you have any valuable info. for me. If you have any experience with tranny removalsend me an email so we can talk . Thanks

The SE tranny is different from the 2nd gen trannies, the shifter location is farther back and the tranny mounts are different...if you want to use a FC tranny you have to swap the tailshaft housing from your SE tranny to the FC tranny so you get the right shifter length and tranny mount location. Be sure to get a series 4 tranny...the series 5 trannies have counterweights in the tailshaft section and you'd have to do some serious modding to get that to work with the SE housing. Series 4 is a plug n play affair.

exactly!!! i just did this about a week ago. Sounds difficult but its not at all. Just make sure you have a punch to punch the shifter pin out on the FC tranny. The SE is easy, it has a 10mm bolt
