Fender Rolling in Bay Area
Fender Rolling in Bay Area
hi all,
looking for a shop that does fender rolling with the correct tools and a heat gun. after doing a search, all i came up with was a shop called Extreme Performance in San Jose. i'm about to make an appointment with them to do my two front fenders, but would definately consider something closer to the east bay.

I have one I rented from JesusCookies that I will be using soon. Come by and we can do both our cars if you split the cost of renting and shipping the tool ~ $55.00
I have done several other cars before including JPandes, gnx7 and several others whose user names I cannot remember.
Shoot me a pm.

Lets make it next Saturday, July 23rd...for now
I have rolled fenders on 4 or 5 fd's and they all came out real good. Have yet to try it on an fc but should be the same more or less.

yo chris if you dont hook up with dave to do the fender rolling you might wanna give auto rnd a try they might be able to help you out. if they dont personally do it themselves then they know who does, they are good peoples.

Germ: thanks for the tip. i will drop them an e-mail, and maybe call them tomorrow. i knew they dealt with aftermarket parts specializing in wheels and stuff, just never came to mind to check them out about fender rolling. heard nothing but good stuff about them.
it's autornd.com right? if so they've changed their site (i personally hate those type of looking sites with the same format of online shopping carts...).
Jesuscookies may not be able to do the fender rolling in time before my wheels get in. and being the impatient person i am, unfortuantely, i may just make the appointment i set upwith extreme performance in san jose. according to jesuscookies, he is also about the same distance from where i am. extreme performance is charging me about double of what jesus cookie's estimate is, but then again they are doing all the labor and such.
Question: i'm only rolling the two front fenders. does the front bumper get rolled too? as it is part of the wheel well and connected with the fender? or do they just roll the fender and leave the bumper alone? i only ask because the front bumper and the fender are different material?
thanks all,
chris

thanks for the suggestion Batman. looks like my appointment with extreme performance is still a go tho.
reza: i had talked to someone at extreme performance, and they said they can roll the fender as much as possible to the point where there is no difference in exterior looks. they also said they can go beyond that (if it is necessary for wheel fitment), but the fender lip will start to look different and noticeable. but probably not different and noticeable in a good way.

what rims you go with? lucky for you, i'm jealous, i can't afford new rims shipped from japan. i'm trying to stop the spending on this car, so i went with this wheel. it's good quality, and relatively light, and cheaper. and another big factor is that they are in stock and will be here in 2 days! i just tracked the wheels and tires, both should arrive by this friday. after the suspension is done, i'm declaring my car finished.....
late,

went with work meister s1 2piece in vs-xx gold. 18x9 +45 in the front and 18x10 +50 in the rear. i'm in the same boat as you when you say you've spent too much money on the 7, as have i. i just have to do a couple more things and i will call it finished on my 7 as well; a paint job and hopefully black interior and finish installing the rest of my parts i have stock pilled should complete my 7. me you and wes should get together for another drive sometime. take it easy man post pics of your rims when you get them mounted.

daym nice^^^. much nicer than my plain 5 spoke wheels... heh
well... i'm heading off to work. by the time i get home, my wheels should be here! let's see if the 17x9 +43 with 255/40 tire up front will rub. i'll take pics of before fender rolling and after.
