You could also remind them that 9 out of 10 times a 500whp FD will destroy a 900whp "dyno queen" JZA80.

And to think, I used to own a Supra. I loved that car too. But it was nothing in comparison to my FC or my FD. They do make great dyno queens though.

I owned the Supra when I was in Portugal. I wasn't allowed to take my FC with me. So I found this Supra. It was a RHD from Japan and I got it for $900. Can you blame me? $900 for a running '89 Supra. Well worth the money.

Those things were cool. I pretty much stopped liking Supra's with the debut of the MKIV/JZA80.

wow... 10.30 per person? EXPENSIVE! is it worth the meet? I mean it feels like we're gonna be a bunch of ricers, and we're going to be portrayed as such. should we degrade our beloved FD's to such an event and pay for it?

Well first off for the people that think that I’m just blowing smoke about having a 100k supra put your money where your mouth is! And I’ll bring all the receipts for my supra and I guaranty that they add up way over a 100k. And as for FD -VS- SUPRA come on guys they both have their PLUS SIDES and they both are amazing cars that’s why I have both of them. My FD definitely handles better then my SUPRA but as fair as beating my SUPRA in a race there is no way! And my FD put down 450rwhp. Don’t get me wrong the FD is fast as f**** and I love it to death But when money is on the line the SUPRA is the one I’m racing with. And I’m sure that there are some guys on here that have some FD’S that could beat my SUPRA but my car was built for SHOW/PERFORMANCE that’s why I have 6 first place trophy’s at home for various car show’s that my SUPRA has won at. But you have to admit for a show car that runs 10’S that’s pretty good! (And that’s on drag radials) But the hole reason I even came on the RX7 FORUMS to talk to all you guys is because I do have a lot of respect for the RX7’s and that why I would like to see more of them out at the meet this year. I agree with some of you guys the movie will most likely suck but it’s not about the movie, it’s about all the car enthusiasts getting together and meeting people just like your self. So I hope to see more of you guys out there this year!

afastrx7, you don't get it do you? It doesn't matter how much money you sink into your car. It matters that you were trying to flaunt it. That's what got the bad response. Several guys here love Supra's and own them. I like them and give them tons of respect. However, they are notorious for being dyno queens. Just like FD's are notorious for breaking all the time.

So, whoever goes out to the meet have fun and post pictures for everyone to see.

Well I’m sorry if it came across that way that was not my intention, the reason I brought my car up and how much money was in it was I thought everyone was worried about their cars being damaged at the meet and I wanted to let them know that I have a lot to lose and I would not take my car any were unless I KNOW ITS SAFE. So again I apologize if it came across wrong!

if it was freeeeee... i totally would do it.... heh. I guess it's my asian blood that tells me "rice is good". though our cars are FAR from being a ricer, to the general public, supras, rx7's skyline's, silvia's, Civic's are ALL the same. It doesn't matter. As long as it's japanese, it's a rice burner .. That's one way of putting me off to this event, ESPECIALLY at a MOVIE THEATER! but oh well... i will see.

Look guys, this meet has been organized properly, we have two rows of parking secured, and for the most part, cars in the same class (FD's, Z, GT-R's, Supras, NSX's, etc) will be in attendance. This is not a Civic, Integra, 240sx meet. This is about having a good time at a meet and being a part of a fun night. No one is forcing anyone to attend, but I thought since FD's are in the upper crust of Japanese Autos, you all would at least be interested in coming to the meet.
The movie is not really the draw here. If you are interested in seeing the movie, we have already bought the entire 9:00pm show. It's not like you are going to be watching the movie with a bunch of 13-year old kids. The cops are not going to circle around The Block looking for a free bust, so I urge some of you to re-consider your position in deciding whether or not to at least drop by. If you draw attention to yourself however while you are driving, you are asking for trouble at that point. So don't pull into the parking lot revving your *** off, at full throttle, etc.
I hope some of you will make it out to the meet tonight, which promises to be a good one. Please go back to the link on the first page for all the details if you haven't already. Thanks everyone!

i don't know dan, but the past 2 movies when i went to see with my fiancee during the grand opening ends up seing the movie with a lot of ricer and HS kids with theirs hondas and toyotas. so yeah this time time i've decided to see it during week days as most of the HS is working and we don't need to hear them shouting "that car is mad tyte, yo".
