Experiences with Seaside or Salinas Mazda?

It is now official that 2004-2005 RX-8 owners are going to have to take their cars to the dealer to get engine diagnostics, a flash, spark plug replacements at the minimum in a huge engine recall. Some owners will be getting new engines.

Since the work is pretty serious, does anyone have any good/bad service experiences with the Mazda dealer in Salinas or Seaside?

I'd prefer to take my baby to the better dealer. Thanks in advance!

since it's closer to you, take it to the seaside one. the salinas one are full of ******* morons and the head mechanic there (some old, fat ****) is a damn douche. he is a smartass man and not in a good way, you feel like punching him.

when i first got my FD, i called and asked if they were able to do a compression check on the engine and this is how it went.. "sorry, our mechanics are not experienced with RX7's, only RX8's." *click* and i reported the damn douche. then i had later "run-ins" with him.

i have a lot of bad things to say about him and that mazda dealership (full of idiot dicks that don't know squat **** about what they even sell). if you say something "that's not right," he'll go crazy on you and start the smartass remarks.

i've gone to the one in seaside and have had nothing but good experiences and friendly costumer service. i vote, seaside dealership.

although, if you purchase any aftermarket stuff from salinas mazda, they might not process your order right (that's how stupid they are) and you might end up with some free stuff (i got a complete factory headlight assembly).

Thanks rastarajah! Sounds like you've had plenty of bad experiences with the service and part folks at Salinas Mazda.

I think you have convinced me to first give the Seaside service department a try first.
