I believe that also the rx8 had something to do with it. The popularity of rotaries are rising because of the 8. And also, the 8 isn't turbo'd so it makes people that want or own an 8 look back at the 7's for those needs and want to buy them. Supply and demand, once the supply is limited, demands goes higher and also when demand is higher, price becomes higher. Basic economics right there. Saving up for a rx7 too... this sucks in my part but at the same time, the respect and value of the rx7 is more aperant now. The rx7 deserves higher prices, more than the supra because its a rare engine (rotary with twin turbo), handling is freaking awesome, looks are great and because they are more limited than supras. makes me wonder, what the hell did i ever see in a supra, rx7's are way better.
I'd take the 2JZ over that rotary anyday in terms of reliability, performance, economy, ease of maintanaince, etc. The Supra has alot going for it(F&F jacked up alot of vehicles prices).

This isn't as bad though, as say AE86's thanks to the anime Initial D. Holy crap you can't even buy an SR5 for less than 1500-2000(and we won't talk about GT-S's like the one I bought = OUCH).

mine's gone up almost 3 in the last year, as much as i hate the f&f movies i'm sure they'll just boost our prices up more, but then again we'll be harassed by cops more since the teenage rice scene will be revitalized. why does everything good have to be accompanied by something bad or really annoying?

yeah lol ae86 gts's dont go for less than 6k now, and if its a hatch too, hahaahha you're dreaming if you want to get one for less than 7k. its funny because those cars should be worth about 800-1500 bucks.

and im glad the price of FDs went up, finally getting deserved respect, those poopras go average for 25k, id like to see FDs get up to the high teens low 20s for an average condition, running FD, but thats gonna take a while to get to

Every time someone asks me if I want to sell my car, I raise the price. I think I told someone "at least 20k" a couple of months ago.

How high can they go? You can already buy a 2000 s2k for 16k.

Ah I see we have a honda lover. Personaly I'd drive a ITR but not a S2k.

Are they fast? Sure for a honda. A little slower than a ITR but still fast.
Are they good looking? Yeah, for a convertable. I think CONVERTABLES are for GIRLS. Ever see a dude in a miata. Tell me what you thought. And I like miata's.

Also, every one has there own opinion right. Why dont you state yours instead of trying to tear down others.

And finally would you trade your FD (if you even have one) for a S2K?

Get back to me about that.....

Honda lover? Hardly. I respect the ITR and the S2k though. Do you think the same on the NSX I wonder? One of my best friends runs/owns PandaGarage here in San Diego and currently owns an NSX, a GTS-T R32 Skyline, 2 FD's, and 2 AE86's(one with a Mark III Supra turbo engine). We always discuss the good and bad with all our cars. Currently I own a 90' 240sx with an S14 SR20 and silvia conversion, a 95 240sx, an AE86 GT-S, and an 01 Vette, and am buying one of the FD's from the friend I mentioned above. I love cars. Especially RWD ones. I think the S2k is a hell of a car. You're getting 250hp out of a 2litre N/A engine, tell me that isn't something to marvel at? All the AE86 guys marvel at the performance Honda can get out of their small displacement motors through their V-tec systems. I would never own an S2K, as there is just far too many vehicles I want, and I don't think I'll ever make enough money to get them all.

Also your comments about the Miata are laughable. The Miata owns everything on the track, and if you have a turbo-charged one, you're doing pwnage x 10. Did you know the Miata was designed by college students? Knocking a fellow mazda enthusiast vehicle, really shows where your opinions lay at.

You think the FD is so great? It's handling is world class, but the engine itself has many many things going against it. Reliability, not being able to miss gas stations, lack of people who are able to fix your rotary when it goes out(and if you do the work yourself, good for you, however not everyone is fortunate enough to have a garage, the tools, and the time for such endeavors like us). The S2000 will be around for years to come. We haven't had the RX-7 since 1995/96, and even Japan stopped making them several years ago. Just like the Supra, and the 300zx, and the 3000GT, all have taken a backseat to other car ideas.

Now I can get in a pissing contest with you all day long, but frankly it wouldn't be worth my time. I'd rather spend it with true car enthusiasts, and not close-minded ******** such as yourself. I love cars, and enjoy the company of people who love cars as much as I do, and don't talk **** about proven performance platforms without doing research on it first. It just makes you look ignorant(like your comment about me loving Hondas without finding anything about my taste in cars good show!).

Will

P.S. You think convertibles are for girls. Does that mean my dad who owns 2 Corvette Convertibles, countless other guys with S2ks, Miatas, Corvette Convertibles, Mustang Convertibles, etc etc are all girly? I'm curious. Does something about convertibles give you a complex?

Talk about ignorance. First yes convertables are for girls. I as a man would never buy one. With the exception of a miata as a track car. By the way I think you missed the part were I said "I LIKE MIATAS" This is my opinion and my thread I can say what I want.

As I read your post you came off very hotty, as if you have a very large ego. Do I work on my own cars yes I do. I have worked on hundreds of cars.

Am I a car lover? yes I am. I have owned a very large veriaty of cars over the years (no covertables though) I have owned pro 5.0's, VW bettles, Tons of sport bikes and sport cars. I currently own 2 FD's, a 57 oval window bug with sliding sun roof (worth more than a FD) A 63 VW notchback, Yes the ones you had to special order from germany and have it slow boated over in the 60's. A 91 300zx tt, a 85 5.0 hatchback and a 2000 ford explorer.

But when people ask me what brand of vehicals I like, I just say I like cars in general all makes. I love 65 mustang fastbacks and 67 camarro's. And have built one of each. Didnt own the mustang, though I wish I did.

Now on reseach. I think you would be far pressed to find some one who knows more about cars in general. Now spelling thats another story. The s2000 is awsome on paper 240, well 236 now out of a 2 liter is awsome but honda has been making that kind of power for over ten years. The 93 gsr was a 1.7 litter that made 180 horse power. Never heard of it. I had one. Its a one year only car. And that power to liter is very close. Now if they had 200 per liter that would be something. The new gsxr 1000 (1 liter for you, makes 187 horse power) almost 200.

Have you ever driven a s2k I have. They drive nice, handle well, and are very forgiving. Are they fast, no more like quick but they arent really on the same level as a RX7. The Rx7 was a pure sports car made as light and fast as posible. No extra wight, no cup holders, no heavy convertable tops, just pure sports car. The s2k was made for every one. It has drive just as good for you as it does for all the 85 year old men and 17 year old girls that own them in my town. The Rx7 cost over 40,000 dollars in 94. By todays standards that would be around 65,000 to 75,000 dollars today. Thats the kinda car your about to buy. Feels good dont it.

Next yes I do work on my own car. Have my own spot to work on my car, have a DD and the knowledge to do so myself. Then you listed a whole bunch of other cars that I love. with the exception of the 3000gt. My friend has a 9 second street 3gt and I still dont like them. Kinda my rival.

Then you said some other stuff about how I talk about people that I dont know anything about how that makes me a terrible person. And in so dueing you did the same exact thing making you a terrible person and a hypocrite. Oh yeah then you called me a *******. good job.

I say truce, lets just say I love cars and not convertables.
You love cars and covertables. How would that be.

except you never answered the one question I asked.
Would you trade a FD for a 2000 S2K?
Case

P.S. How old id your dad? Maybe hes just having a mid life crisis. I dont know why he bought a convertible.

I love zeh cars which are fast and good looking. I can also say its a frikin honda....Yeah horse power to weight ratio is one of the best but guess what? Its still a honda. Now the Nsx Is a sight to look at. But thats like comparing a skyline to a maxima...Right?...Yes, Intruiging I know. Im done here and hope we all can get along because we own very nice cars. Wether we have a 1.3l or 7.5L. or that cost $15,000 or $65,00....
