your asking someone to come to your place drop your diff then take it to go weld it and then go back and install it. 50$ for diff fluid up to 50$ in gas that's already 100$ count the hours of labor it's probably a 3 hour job for some very experienced to drop and install. not including time to take the diff to weld it. say it's about a 5+ hour job at least. most shops charge 70-120 per hour. not to mention it's a house call.

Exactly....

At $75 an hour ( My shop price right now ) multiplied by let's say 6 hour's total since my charge time would start the second I get into my car, plus the cost of gear oil and welding material's would roughly cost you about $520 or so.
For that price you could save a few more paycheck's and get a real LSD unit from Kaaz etc...

Good luck, but I doubt you will find somebody that is willing to do that job for less than $400.

I'd go pickup a spare n/a differential from a same model FC and take it to somebody and have them weld it and then you can install it on your time and save the cost of labor which is where all that money is going to go.

I am having a 1980 Rx7 12a engine rebuilt completely. What is a range for a fair price? Please assist me. I've been quoted $3000-$4000. Is that right?

Are you just switching out the pumpkin or you need the internals swapped?

IIRC, the pumpkin needs to be taken apart and resealed w/ RTV. Do you need this running soon after? Gotta let the sealant cure first.

RTV drys in an hour but your suppose to let it cure over night. Especially on something that gets as much heat such as a oil pan or diff.
