I have to admit man, I love FCs hell i know I will get another in the near future but theres too many of them been scrapped and beaten to hell. Finding a decent T2 or even a gtus is impossible so the value of them have drop dramatically. Still to this day the FD has been holding its value. And after 7stock i saw a 2-3k raise in selling prices.

Get a FD and build the FC as a track monster bro. Dropping 10k plus on a fc is not what it used to be you will actually be throwing away the loot. my opinion dont trip lol

Well mike I'd say if you get offers go for it, i know where to find them at, I wouLd love to be able to hook you up and get a sweet FD out of it but I don't know when I can afford another car. I feel ya alex and I've put alot of thought but damn man FD's are expensive as far as upgrades. I'm gonna make her a track monster but I need to wait right now and get another car when I'm ready.

haven't seen you guys in a while. I'm headin up to 29 palms from nov14 - dec17. However, if you wanna see my car, just head over to Lucky 7. It's there getting the motor rebuilt, interior rewired. After I get back it's off to Autopower to get FIA approved cage, seats, seatbelts and tons of safety equipment installed.

p.s. any of you guys roll on Streets of Willow before? What kind of times you post?

That's cool man, Great choice with Lucky 7! They will make sure your car runs well. I have never been to that track, I would like to sometime in the near future though.

(note: due to internet lacking emotions, read the following text with the understanding that the words are calm, even, and NOT anger filled! )

if i was a cheap ******, i wouldn't have set aside about $10k for this project and $15k for the racing season this next year.

I have 3 cars that i have to divy funds between, and i track/race all of them. So, i'm very conservative. I reasearch everything.

i'm not sure what fris told you.... he said I was cheap, or you?

and alex, why would i need more powaaaa? Racing is a discipline, that if you can't control a car with 168hp....another 100hp won't fix bad driving. Especially in rally. While I pride myself on my abilities (rather than on the appearance of my cars), i'm certainly no tanner foust, or ken block. I have a lot to learn. There is a reason rally-america doesn't allow drivers to enter production gt/super production from the get go. Do I have an Evo X? You bet ya... can I drive it at National level in the Super Production class? NOPE.

Everyone else, let me just ask an honest question. Do you folks still want me to come on wednesdays? When I was invited by Alex on the first day I drove my RX7, I felt I was being welcomed by a collective of rotor heads. Since that time, I've been told everything from "you don't know anything about rotary engines" to "why did you put s4 light on your car, nobody does that, everybody does s5!" I don't get it guys? I've gotten the most help from my honda s2k buddies (several of them own rx7s). so why are the "ricers" giving me help with a racecar, and the rotor guys who should know better are acting like my car is an offense to your group? So, just answer me straight out. Am I or Am I not welcome? If it's the car that's offensive, please, just get over it, it's an expression of my interpretation of an RX7. If it's me that's offensive, please, tell me. Have I been an *** to you guys?

Either way, I'm building my car for racing (and yes it will stay 100% street legal), yes I'm going to rock the s4 tail lights, yes the paint job is going to be fixed, yes i'm sticking with a non-ported 13b NA motor, its the only one that meets the criteria for the rules. So, who wants to help me build this thing or what? You aren't seriously going to let my Honda buddies give me more advice and help than rotor heads...are you?

And Alex, for the love of God man, trust me with my own car. I love your advice, and I'm not as dumb as you think I am, keep givin' me the advice, minus the condescension. Lets build this thing....

p.s. if one of you has the ***** and wants to be a back up navigator, let me know. I need alternates....and I can't race without a navigator.

Wow, I don't really know what all that was about... Let's just say that I never talk trash or say **** like that. Anyways, I hope you build it up. I'm currently working on my FD and have some things left before I can track it again. Good Luck with your build. I hope to see you at some more meets.

Everyone is welcome to the meets. That is one place you shouldnt have to worry about people talking trash about you or your car.

with that in mind, until the build is done, i'll be coming to the meets in one of my other cars. also, if you guys know anyone looking for a 93' FD for a good deal, send them my way. Also, I have an entire garage full of FC parts now (including 87' Turbo rolling shell, extra body parts, etc etc) If you guys are looking for anything in particular, let me know, I'm down for a swap.

Let me know if you go to the track, i almost always go with speed ventures. Just give me a heads up. Didn't mean to cause a ruckus btw

Judah keep that **** via pms, I SAID YOU WHERE BEEN CHEAP I DID I DID I DID. Because if I was building your motor and we needed more funds to finish it and you tell me build it like that or I only budget myself to this amount then you are been cheap!

Yes you are always invited crazy, no one is kicking you out. We dont care if you are N/A or 4 rotor,we dont care if your car is ziptieed together or you have a rare kinighstport bumper. But be realistic man we give you advice and you go the other way. I PUT MY NAME in favor of helping you out with a reputable shop and made me look bad because you wanted to do a rebuild in a budget. You have $10k right?,what have I and Jesse been preaching about for the longest. MOTOR REBUILD!dont cheap out on it.

Wolf never had an issue keeping up with his n/a fc through the canyons with our 300+ whp FDs so no one is complaining.

Again You have a rotary and you are always invited and take the words I say with a grain of salt everyone that knows me know thats the way I am. You will get to know me better and it will pass. As you can tell by now I am a bit paranoid and have minor signs of ptsd. I at times dont look like I am listen or easily distracted but I am listening.

Thank you Alex, My FC preformed better than anyone else thought it would and it still does. No port job and an N/A with a rebuild by mazdaspeed. It wasnt cheap. And i had to swap my other S5 engine i blew to get it for a 4000.

Judah Your fine bro, Do what you want with your car just take the advice we give for the most part or take it into consideration, We all know what were talking about and Alex and jesse have the most time with the engine. I know what im dong but I've also never rebuild my own engine yet(working on it =) ). It needs a rebuild, when i got mine put in i did a swap with a fresh rebuild, It ran me 4000 at first and ended up being 4500 for misc parts that broke. You cant skimp on a rebuild. It goes without saying..... "You get what you pay for". Well with rotary this still holds true. You can still always ask me anything too i have numbers and names and know a few people. I may not be in cali but last i checked Im on here and FB. I wanna see what youve done with the thing when its running.

Take it easy guys, I'll be back if even for a visit and i will be there for Sevenstock. With a much upgraded FC. Later guys have fun on the tracks and at the meets.

Actually, i really appreciate the advice you guys are givin' me. Just, please know that even if I don't follow your advice it's because I considered it, and then decided not to use it. Your wisdom is not wasted. Some advice will work better for my other rx7 other advice works great for the current build.

Speaking of... the current issue at hand that I need to resolve is actually not the engine/drivetrain. I trust Fris to get that done right. The issue is suspension. 99% of suspension kits/parts for the FC are designed to lower the vehicle (which makes sense for what most people do). I need to focus on making the struts as long travel as possible, keeping them soft, and preferrably increasing the ride height. I know of several shops I can go to...but I want to find parts myself before hand. Doing as much work myself keeps cost down.

*sigh* it'll get there.

merry xmas, y'all

i personally like the s4 lights over the s5 too, i had an 87 a while ago, that thing was pretty nice, got an FD now but trying to sell that just cuase it cost alot to keep it on the road, just with insurance and fuel cost and my addiction to buying parts LOL
i am actually going to have a guy look at it today, you guys all in town and want to do a meet this week? i assume alot of you won't be here.. ehh we will see
