CA smog?
ok today went to go do a PRE smog test(in soCAL)the result was fail of course! the guy told me i needed a TUNE UP, O2sensor, and change the CATCONVERTER..he told me i only needed 1 cat converter!(is that even right 1 CAT)instead of 3 and it'll be ok! i was like NO WAY! let me think about it and come back!
anyway the result was at
15mph
HC=439ppm
CO-4.6%
CO2=11.7%
O2=0.1%
NO=44ppm
at 25mph
HC=187ppm
CO=3.7%
CO2=12.3%
O2=0.1%
NO=89PPM
i think the NO is ok but the rest needs help???
any tips? i search but i dont understand!

You can pass smog pretty well with only one cat (main cat with the air pipe going to it). In fact i pass smog 3 times with just the main cat. I didn't know that my other cats was hollowed out untill i took the front cats off. Changing the o2 and air filter would also help if is orginal. There is a valve in the intake manifold where the air pump connects. That valve gets stuck and wont let the pump pump air to the cat. That may also cause the high gas readings. Good luck!!
