Question body/paint damage questions

Well, stupid me. Just grazed the rear pass quarter panel on my car backing out of the garage. F'n tight squeeze in there, just wasn't paying attention. See pics. I'm pretty clueless on paint/body stuff. What do you guys think a reasonable repair bill is to fix this? I was thinking of respraying the whole car, since there's a bunch of other places that need to be touched up... I got quotes to redo the whole car from $1700-2700. I really can't spend more than $1k right now since I just dumped a $h!tload of $$$ on other stuff recently. I'm not looking for show quality, just some durability from rock chips, etc. My car is NOT a garage queen, it's more like a street/track warrior, and I'm not looking to spend a fortune on paint since I know it's going to get messed up again anyway. What do you think?

Thast a super easy fix man.

Do this

1- go to your nearest autobody paint supply store
2- order a quart of the base coat color of your car $24-$50
3- go to a near body shop
4- show them the area that needs to be fixed and give them your quart paint.

Tell them you only want that area retouched, make sure you go to a reputable shop and make sure your paint is 100% close to oem color. Depending on the shops shooting techniques they will either do the whole rear quarter or a small area.

$like this you are looking at $100 -200 total including paint.

And it should be no more than 2 days turn around with avg shops. Dont let them screw you by saying they do labor by the hour or that they only use a certain type of paint.

They have plenty of clear, reducer and activator at their shops from previous jobs so no need to buy clear and activator.

You should be able to fix that yourself.

-Sand it down with 60 grit paper to get a nice surface for filler to grab on
-Fill with bondo (looks shallow so it won't need much
-Sand using a rubber block in stages up to 220 grit
-Paint w/ 1) primer, 2) color matched spray paint), 3 clear coat (you can get all three at automotive touchup.com)
-Sand clear w/ 600 grit and block

This is a perfect excuse to learn the simple parts of body work.

I used this website's touch up paint for my 87 FC and it blends PERFECTLY. I had more damage than you to my rear bumper due to an accident and it only cost me ~ $25 shipped.
