bay area webber tuners

bay area webber tuners

hey anyone in the bay area pretty proficient at tuning webbers, i have a 48 ida that im trying to buy a used mani for and i was wondering if anyone out here could teach me a little about em and help me get the setup running....any advice/guidance would be awsome, thanks!!!!

Count the progression hole. If there are only 2, use a reamer to add another progression hole (total 3 holes per barrel).

In the fuel inlet, remove the big bolt and drill out the funnel. This will unrestrict the flow. You can even run the fuel pressure at 3.5 psi.


Look at the picture below and compare with yours w/o the cover. You have to drill out that wall between the fuel bowl and that compartment. this will give you couple ounces of extra gas.


using the stock nikki's brass OMP inlet, install it in fuel bowl or above the brass float pin. Since Im not sure which 48 IDA you have (Left of Right) and depending on your intake manifold, be sure to install the fitting on the engine side. It just look much better.

hey thanks wacky, not clear on everything you said actually im pretty new to carbs, but i really want to learn so big thanks, i bought this used from camocarl and dont know if anything has been modified on it...ie drilled out or added prodression whole, i know there are no omp line inlets on it and i dont have the brass cover where i think the jets are? ill try to get some pics and post em to let you see it thanks for the help again, i might need more explenation then that in a bit, im thinking i might do the cheater thing and have rob at rotary shack just hook it up for me/with me so i can learn a little about it from him, anyway if i need help i know who to ask now....the wackyracer man
