CA Bay Area: Single Turbo Conversion - FD

I'm working on converting my FD to a single turbo this Winter with an A-spec kit. My plan is to get the stock turbos off and then remove the UIM... but from there, it would be nice to have some guidance from someone who has done this before.

Basically I just want to make sure I'm unplugging and blocking off the right things. With the rats nest and solenoids removed, I want to make sure my vacuum lines are properly routed and capped, etc.

The less trial and error I have to do with this part the better. Anyone experienced in the bay area willing to lend a hand? I think a quick overseeing of my engine bay and pointers in the right directions will help greatly.

Thanks!

Eric,

Hope all is well. A-spec is a great kit to go with. I am running the GT3574 and I am pleased with the results.

Here is a great writeup on doing the conversion:

Thanks guys for the link, I looked at the write up and it is definitely the most comprehensive one

Page 3 is where I need the most help with... after I pluck the UIM and unveil the rats nest and wiring mess. Triple-R: GT35R SINGLE TURBOCHARGER CONVERSION INSTALLATION

I have a full set of block off plates, did you take the opportunity to block off all of the following while going single turbo?

Double throttle, AWS, ACV, ISC, EGR

Yes. Except the ACV but only because my state has mandatory emissions testing and I wanted to retain it to not have to worry about passing the test. Passing the test can be donw without th ACv but it is more involved. I've never failed a test..
