I can't edit my post but the aforementioned Sunday morning Caravan from Orinda to Sac is cancelled since parents need me at home on that day , however the actual C&C in Sac is still on. Plenty of other people will be caravanning to there from the bay so just a matter of asking around.
6:00 PM Head out to cruising area.
Take 24 W through Caldecott Tunnel Merge onto 580S , take Golf Links Road exit Drive Skyline Blvd, Grizzly Peak Blvd to Lawrence Hall of Science .
7:00 PM Hang out there for duration of the evening.
Maps and additional links to route will be provided before the day of. Additionally, I'll assign locals who know the roads to lead groups so no one gets lost during the drive. Additionally, everyone should have data coverage for the duration of the cruise and meet.
Notes:
+ I've got two photographers I'm working with who're interested in taking pics at the meet, but I'll see how comfortable they are at taking rollers , fly bys etc.
+ Pace: CHILL. We'll get our wot full pull tunnel runs and maybe some Fwy **** but this is a chill drive.
+ If you can't make the pre meet, meet us at the Lawrence Hall of Science.
+ Food & Drink: downtown Berkeley has whatever you want and it's within 10 mins driving of Lawrence Hall of Science. I'd recommend ordering pickup, driving down to get your stuff whenever's a good time then coming back up. Just clean up after yourself.
+ Can I bring someone? Sure, but lot space is limited.
+ " My RX-whatever is down" . yeah no **** bring the daily I don't mind . "I sold my rotary" . Then why are you here? nah lol I'm jk I still don't care bring whatever.
+ Gas: if you need gas the Chevron in Orinda is low car friendly. I'd recommend gassing up there before showing up to the pre meet.
+ This plan may be modified as the day approaches. If there's rain, it'll be postponed.
Link to route from Wilder Road parking area in Oakland to Golf Links road Shell, then to Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley via Skyline blvd/Grizzly:
There's a Shell across the street, but take the Orinda way entrance on the North side for easier entry.
Edit: the links aren't working properly, but the route is actually really simple, especially if you know East Bay.
One the day of, just set your GPS for the Wilder Road Athletic area, then for Golf Links Road Shell, and then finally for Lawrence Hall of Science. The whole group'll be there anyways for the drive, so no man will get left behind.

Don't you guys ever just go out and drive you cars how they're meant to be driven? "Chill" drives and sitting around with photography has got to be the worst way to enjoy a vehicle. I feel sorry for you.

I'll try to make this one, my work schedule shifted so cant be out too late on Saturday's anymore...

If that's your opinion, and you're being honest with yourself, that's ok. If this isn't to your liking , that's also ok. Maybe coming out to the event will turn that condescending attitude around.
Weather you're there or not, attendees will enjoy the meet, the scenery and catching up on each other's builds.
If you feel sorry for me, your feelings are misplaced as I'm quite enjoying the local automotive scene, the build process, and relaxed downtime such as this meet. As mentioned above there are plenty of owners who drive their cars hard on track, backroad etc. I'm among those, but as you may or may not realize, when you're organizing a non performance driving event with a large group of different people of different skill levels, it's better to "cap" the pace that the group drives at.
If you'd like to discuss this further, send me a message so the thread stays on topic. Otherwise I suggest looking into HPDE events local to you so you can meet more like minded individuals, because clearly this thread for meets (not performance driving) is not to your liking.
