Few upcoming Sonoma dates for those potentially interested. I'll be attending a private event at Thunderhill on the 26th and don't have any plans at this time to drive with OnGrid but I could be open to attending Sunday. Hit me up if so. I will for sure be attending both SpeedSF dates.
November
OnGrid Sat 26, Sun 27
SpeedSF Mon 28
December
SpeedSF Mon 19
Hope to see more rotary out there in the future. Just swing by my tent and say hey

Driving gloves are required to operate the rigs, so bring a pair if you have them. If not sanitary gloves are fine.
Parking: in the designated parking area in front of the entrance. Not on the garage door/alleyway side. It's a quiet secure business park by some suburbs.
Tournament plan? TBD. Jason Cotcher is the business owner, and I leave it to him to assess what's best depending on our attendance count. I'm personally down to just try out time attack and feel out the rig, but we'll thought out ideas and plans are welcome in the comments section. They'll be under review between now and the event date. The meet will be going on a few feet away just outside the building for those who aren't into sims but do want to hangout and meet the community.
Convoy schedule:
I'll be leaving from Richmond at 8 if people want to start a caravan. Rendezvous points will be :
Pinole Shell by In n Out @ 8:00
Oakland Aviation Museum @ 8252 Earhart Rd at 8:30.
Union City Jollibees @ 32460 Dyer Street at 9:00
Sakebomb Garage @ 42500 Industrial Drive at 9:15.
And everyone South of that we'll meet at the venue. If no one posts interest in the caravan, then I'll chill on 880 the whole way down without stopping. Pace will be a calm 65-75 in the carpool lane.

I've been monitoring the weather and looks like there'll be rain Sunday evening and afternoon. Regardless the Sim Center will still be open late into the day. The forecast will be most accurate on Saturday, so if it shows rain in the morning (or a high chance) I'll likely cancel it. I don't want anyone risking a cold or their car getting drenched. My own FD has leaky weather seals and no wipers sooooo 😅

Meets still on. I'll see y'all at the spot since there's no interest in caravanning out. Bring your card for the sim fee, a jacket for the cold, and driving or sanitary gloves if you got em 👌Bring a friend too if they're down as the price per head is discounted based on attendance.
Turnout is hovering around 10 ATM.

Hey y'all this is coming up on Sunday. Evan, myself, and some other rotary peeps will be meeting about 45 minutes beforehand at 8:15 at Union City Jollibees @ 32460 Dyer Street. We'll then head out to the Mountain View at about 8:30 and take 880-237-101. Just gonna be a normal cruise over, then hardpark. At about 10 or maybe 10:30 some of the group (including myself) will hit up 9 Southbound for some mild touge. Me personally my tune just wrapped up and I want to feel out my motor and all that jazz rather than go full INITIALD. I'm still planning out the exact route, but I'll have times and maps posted Saturday at the latest.

On another note, will be setting up another Rotors and Boba meet for 11/26 for those of you who have nothing to do thanksgiving weekend! Will post up the flyer at the end of week. Will also be taking in donations for Toys for Tots once again this year!

Valt Auto Show will be taking place on the 26th as well. I'll be there as well as a couple other rotorheads. It's free to attend and there'll be a OnGrid track day going on in the background. Registering for the show actually gets you 25% off the track day. : 0
And on 12/10 I believe there's a toy drive and car show organized by San Mateo PD.

I keep getting the OnGrid emails about Sonoma. I'm under the impression there will be a very low turnout. Do you drive on track or just sim and initialD on Skyline / Woodside?

The Vast show sounds kinda interesting and you'll have to excuse my ignorance as I don't have or use social media; what exactly is happening? Just cars parked in the big lot?

Hey Federighi, this'll be my first time attending a Valt event, and my first time going to Sonoma in a few years. I know there's multiple spectator parking lots, and a " large parking lot paddock/staging area " by the drag and the stands , but I don't know exactly where the Valt show will be.
There's only one entrance tho and I believe they've got people to actually manage traffic .
Yes, in the background the OnGrid track days will be happening through the weekend, but the show itself is on the 26th. Unfortunately, that's all the info I have at this time.
Here's Valts Instagram if you have further questions regarding the event: https://instagram.com/valtautoclub?igshid=MTg0ZDhmNDA=
I'm not too big on sim racing , so I don't have a setup due to lack of space and cost. Additionally, now that my FD is running I don't see the need for a sim when I'm only a few minutes from the nearby backroads here in East Bay. It's an hour to get to 84 etc from here, so I only go there about once or twice a month on weekend mornings.
Tomorrow's pre meet, cruise, C&C, and post C&C drive is still on btw for any interested. We'll be taking 84 across the bridge to get to Mountain View.

Last update:
Last update : Show up at 8:00 so we can leave at 8:30 and arrive at 9. No idea how fast parking will fill up.
Some final notes about the touge run after the C&C. - Keep it under 60- Avoid passing - Me personally I avoid accelerating on long straights. I'll usually just cruise at whatever my exit speed was. - If anyone puts on their hazards to pull over, be a bro and help them out but don't crowd the road ("double parking").- Chill in the residential areas. No 🔥🧨- Prior to the run we'll set up running order based on pace and keep that for the duration of the run. - At least 5 second following distances when at speed. Clumping at stops is fine. - There's no podium. Driving conditions are looking good , but let's be reasonable.- Prior to leaving the show I want everyone to know the route and have their GPS set up. We'll discuss and confirm before heading out. Don't want anyone getting lost. - My rear visibility sucks but I'll do my best to make sure everyone is stacked up before making turns and merges. Use your indicators , be vigilant and we'll be fine.

Anything happening between dec 20th - jan 10th in the Bay Area? I'll be around for a few weeks with an '01 Z3M, would be fun to see the cars side by side.

But a great turnout for the day imo, tons of very nice cars (no rotary, sorry can't always live in a bubble, ha). Was a huge surprise though to see the whole team in attendance. I'm sure my buddy (instructor) gave them the ride of a lifetime. If this was something that interested you, next time just take the plunge. Just saying, you never know.
