we plan to do a 7 day drive that sunday weekend. 9 > skidepad > 35 > alice > la honda > pescadero for some damn tacos

06/19, Laguna (Db limit unknown), Hagerty - check driver eligibility

06/20, Laguna (105db), Trackmasters Racing - check driver eligibility

06/26, Willow Springs (Db limit unknown), Speed Ventures, all experience levels welcome

06/26 - 06/27, Buttonwillow CW13 (103db), SpeedSF - all experience levels welcome, check availability


And please let everyone know about the caravan drive for 7's day. That way you can make the event public instead of invite only. I'm potentially interested in the cruise.

 

Thank goodness, im relieved i didnt have to plan this. Will post up a flyer for Rotors and Boba meet for June this week.

I'll be attending Thunderhill 5 mile with SpeedSF this Friday 06/11. Should be an exciting day. Hope to see other rotary owners out there and feel free to come strike up a conversation

 

Almost an understatement to say that Thunderhill was a blast!

First time driving the 5 mile and with the connection, it's a HUGE track. Luckily there weren't many drivers signed up for the event so there was a ton of seat time. Full hour 'open' heat from 4pm-5pm, I drove about 50 min before my concentration started to waiver and decided it was time to call it (reminded me of my karting days as a young man when I'd do 'enduro' events). Driving at limit for extended periods of time is incredibly demanding. Went out with a full tank of gas, came in with 1/2. Rx8 ran like a champ imo. Thirsty little engine.

Bonus that one of my old friends is now a pro-am racer and instructor for the club and was kind enough to spend some time with me doing a bit of lead / follow. His MR-S absolutely rips (2100lb curb, 220whp) and he literally walked right past me. But I easily picked up a few seconds and definitely cleaned up my line.

I'm planning to go back out on either 06/19, 06/20 or 06/26. No track or club preference. Let me know guys, I was the only rotary out there.

Your not the only one who won’t make it. 🤞, and I can get everything done before Saturday(clutch, flywheel, & hydraulics), but it’s looking more and more like I won’t unfortunately.

 

There’s a 7s Day meet at 1:30pm on the same day at Sakebomb garage
