There is a Vehicle Entry Fee. I will pay for Hot Dogs/Hamburgers.... Chips.... Dip ...

I will also bring the stuff to grill with, and I will personally pay for the reservation of the area.

I will be reserving the space within the next week, AND IT DOES COST MONEY TO DO SO... and there are no refunds so this is now set in stone.

The meet is extended to anyone who wants to come, families, etc. Not just for the RX7 Community. I would really like it if we can start a list though.

Grant Ranch is a 20 minute Mountain Drive away from San Jose. Its a nice place for a BBQ, and I will be taking my 9 Year Old Son with me, as well as my Girlfriend.

on a sunday.. im off at 3:30. and my rx8 is totaled right now, so somewhere in between now and there i'll have a new car, I'd have to let you know what happens later on..

i crashed on highway 17, spun out and hit the barrier at 30-50 mph. pretty much the whole drivers side is perfect, except for the drivers seat, thats broken... everything else on the other side.... im just super sad over it all

 

how much are you getting for her?

 

idk man.. this just happened on wednesday.. the claims team for my insurance company just took the car at noon today.. havnt heard if they decided if its totaled or not.. although after you see the pics, you might just say its totaled, but maybe the rotarygods will be with me on this one.

if air bags deploy in a car it is considered a complete total sorry to break the news but 2 of my sisters are insurance agents. but ya look up blue book value and accept nothing less then that + the cost of the mods on your car. (if you have the receipts to them. if not ask that the parts be returned to you) but here is to hoping the damage isnt that bad. then again they work in New Mexico so the rules for insurance could be different out here.

 

Air bags have nothing to do with a car being totaled or not. The way a car is totaled is if the price to fix it is over 75% of the price of the car. If its below 75% they will fix it. I see 6-8k worth of damage to that car. How much is it worth?

 

8-9k.. from what i heard, its if its going to cost more than 30% of the cars worth. so 30% of 9k... idk, roughly 3k.. and the airbag alone, where it deployed, which is the whole passenger side curtain and the passenger seat, thats like 2k. And yes, I dont need airbags, but when a car is repaired from an accident like that, it has to meet a certain standard, blah blah blah.. anyways, hate to break the news to myself.. but in other words, its fucked.

if only there was an option to turn the passenger airbag off. i dont have any friends and im always cruising by myself, why isnt that option there. and since its an accident like this, now they own it, and i dont think i can get my aftermarket parts back because i gave away the original side markers, and they need it in one piece so as to not lose value on it.. i dont understand how this system works. it ******* sucks. i dont know if I'll get back into a rotary or not. I want to, but... It just wouldnt be the same as that one.

 

You should be able to get your parts back, if they aren't going to pay you for them. Also you can buy the car back for a severe discount and part it out. Sometimes you can make money like that. When I totalled my first fc they gave me 4000 for it and I bought it back for 200 bucks cuz it had exhaust, intake, perfect interior, brand new hatch, and a good engine. Selling the hatch alone i paid myself back.

 

yeah but they'll give me 8-9k for it, and i have just the sidemarkers on it that i want, and the spoiler, that could be some profit.. and the interior is okay.. broke the driver seat though so i dunno. one side of the car is in perfect condition, and that side the wheels are fantastic and the tires looked so good... the tires looked like they survived on the passenger side, but definitely not the rims..

and i dont have enough space to store my car at my house. my mom would want that **** out of here. and the motor is only a 4 port, so there may not be very much interest in it.. i might just take the money and forget about it.

although look what i found today while i was working

I really hope that people are interesting in getting together for this meet. I actually paid for the reservation at the park, and it would be kewl if I had a ruff Idea of how many people are coming so I can plan to buy the dogs, burgers and Drinks.

well were in sacramento and will probibly try to make it at least, dont know if i'll get enough hours at work to afford the gas

Also, I have no place to do a part out and my mom wouldn't want it sitting on the driveway for so long, and I havn't seen much interest in the car anyways

And the motor is in good shape, actually really good shape, for being an original engine with 87k miles.

Someone was interested in buying it on the 8 club forums, but then I mentioned to him that it was a 4 port, not a 6 port, and he couldn't use the engine he said.. So I hope someone can use the engine and the car doesn't get too molested and never makes it to the crusher..

And I owed $2600 to my parents, so I have like $12k to spend, but I cant afford any new cars past 2000, so I try talking to my dad about older cars, like I'm looking at a 1990 Miata and a 1988 RX7, and he just got all defensive about how it'll fall apart and if I buy another car, they'd sell the 2000 Cadillac, so if my car I bought breaks down, I'm **** out of luck pretty much. but they could sell me this pos Cadillac for $1k he said..

So then after our conversation last night, I just said **** it, I'm not getting anything. But I woke up this morning and thought, "Hey.. Why don't I buy this sweet RX7 for $4k and buy the Cadillac for $1k and have $5k leftover?". I'm sure insurance couldn't cost that much more to insure two cars, I can't drive them both at the same time..

So thats the story..

I am totally down I love Grant Ranch I have had some fun camping adventures there. HOWEVER I have a System of a Down concert to get too and I am not sure if I can go to work in the morning, grant ranch, then concert. We'll see.
