Hey all, im moving down to AZ from WA in march and wanted to clear up a few things as far as emissions go. currently in WA if your car is 25 yrs+ emissions are not required. from what i gathered from the website you only have to take emissions if you live or work in metro areas A or B? can anyone clarify this? i need to know if i need to put my emissions equipment back on before then :/

 

AZ only checks emissions in the greater Phoenix and Tuscon areas. So if your moving outside of the area, no emissions. But inside the MVD testing area, yeah you have to have any car that is newer than 1967 tested. Unless you want to get "Collectors" car insurance. But you have to have a new car to daily drive for that.

Thank you sir, just wanted to clear that up. going down with my rx7 and my buddy's 86 mustang which will never pass emissions. lol we're moving to oro valley, but our zip isnt in the are thank god haha
