well I live in AZ and my 1st gen is in oregon still (at my parents) im going home to get it but i took the rats nest out think it will pass AZ emissions with just a Cat????

 

It depends on the mood of the smog tech, my roommate just failed hard core because of visual. With enough alcohol you will pass the sniffer, but who knows on the visual.

 

That and an Air Pump maybe? Did 1st gens come with Air Pumps? I cant remember. ....

 

They are trying to make me an example, I have to revert my car back to stock to pass. I removed the rats nest, installed a holley and header, reinstalled the air pump to pass smog and they failed me twice on visual, crappy emmissions. I still have to put all the stock stuff back on Im glad I kept it all, and then hope I pass.

If you have everything else stock except the rats nest you should pass. smog pump, charcoal canister.
