anyone want to help a fellow rotary guy around phoenix?
I found a rx-7 for sale that the guy says "needs a choke shut off valve". I went to look at it, hoping I could get it running enough to limp it home and it turns out he has the whole carb ripped off. So I was looking for someone around the area that wanted to do me a HUGE favor. I need somewhere that I can park this car and put a carb on it. My apartment complex tells me that I will be fined $1,000 if I attempt to work on a car in the parking lot, and I don't have a grand to spare. If I did I wouldn't be looking at 7's that didn't run. The car is on a trailer as of right now, all I need is somewhere to drop this thing off at for a weekend so I could attempt to get it running. I will supply the beer, whatever your favorite brand is. Can anyone help me out?

Would be looking to purchase the car in the next couple weeks. If I couldn't get it running.. then I would probably do a lot of swearing and throwing stuff. Seriously though, I dunno, I guess it would depend on the owner of the house what happened to it.
I would like to help you out as much as I could but if you couldnt get the car running what would your next step be? Take it to a shop or keep on trying. I just don't want a car at my house for a long period of time that may not be possible to fix with limited knowledge on the car.
I figured I would just buy another carb to throw on there to see what was really going on and see if I could get it running. Another guy on the forum said it was probably the shutter valve that was shot, but that shouldn't keep it from running completely. I guess what I did with it would depend on what I could figure out. If I couldn't narrow the problem down I would probably have to go to a shop, but I think I would be able to figure it out, I have been working on cars myself for a while.
I have to say, first of all, that sucks about your apartment complex, but be careful. About a year ago I bought a non-running rx7 in Prescott that needed "minor carb work". After rebuilding the engine, buying a completely new carb, and plenty of other shiite, I now hope to have the car running by the end of this month. In the meantime it has been sitting in my buddy's yard for close to a year (fortunately he's cool with that) and for what I have spent riviving the beast, I could have bought a GSL-SE in good shape AND had money left over for gas =). All I'm saying is be wary buying rx7s from people who aren't rx7 devotees- they often do not know how to work on them, and damage many components (i.e. our very heat-sensitive rotary engines) in their bungling. Good luck with your project.
