Anyone else need a standalone tuned?

I'm going to need to get a standalone tuned pretty soon, and I'm intersted in getting together enough people to have Steve Kan come to Cali and do a group tuning session. I wouldn't mind driving down to SoCal for a session, so basically who would be interested in getting in for a tuning session sometime? I'm just trying to see if it would even be a possibility to get enough cars for a group session.

I know, I didn't have a car that ran at the time, so I missed out. I was thinking sometime in either March or April, nothing really soon.

Really? I could probably just get a basic tune and run off that, then wait until we can get as many people as possible so nobody is left out.

Kevin, why don't you just have Chris tune the TII for you?

Chris will be tuning the TII, but I'm going to install a Microtech LT-12s on the FB along with some new ignition coils, get that old distributor/Haltech F3 system OUT. Since Chris is no longer taking cars (after mine is done), I don't really trust anyone local and I would hate to have that car sitting on a flatbed tow truck again...

As far as cost goes (from Steve's website) the charge is $350/car if he's going to travel, plus whatever it costs to rent the dyno out for the day. Minimum 5 cars.

i'm familiar enough with microtech to tune it on the road but obviously i don't compare to Steve, i have another rebuild coming in after yours and he will be needing a tuning session from Steve also. i hate referring people away from myself but i couldn't think of anyone who can tune better than Steve can, that's no offense to Chris but he deals mainly with Wolf systems.

i will be looking into local dyno shops next week for future tuning sessions.

Not to overload you with work, but could you install and tune a Microtech? Of course I'd pay extra, but I'd like to get stuff like the clutch and the standalone taken care of while the engine is out.

Also, I was thinking we could have some sort of Nor-Cal/All-Cal meet in June at a tuning shop if we start planning now. We just have to find the right shop. I know a few tuning shops in Sacramento that have chassis dynos, but Sacramento seems too far for a lot of the Bay Area folk. I think that would be a great day, having Steve come to tune our cars, with 50 other rotary powered cars in attendance.

shouldn't be a problem, just let me know. microtech is a relatively simple but adequate standalone in most respects but it all depends what you need it to do, dunno why some people don't like them as the ones i have seen produced some very respectable numbers and i am not disappointed with mine.

Well, Zach PM'd me about a Haltech E6X, so I think I'll be going with a new ECU rather than a used 2-year old non "s" LT-12.

So I guess while the engine is out I'd like for you to install a new ECU, new pressure plate (may need a new disc), and probably some new motor mounts. It seems like a good time to do these sorts of things.

Comes with all sensors and the fuse block, too. Basically everything you need if you're going to run less than 25psi and your current ignition setup.
