combo of a few beers, unnamed narcotics, and a few sleeping pills puts me right out...for about 3 hours. i think that's enough to put a normal person in a coma

try ambien cr. It's time released so it keeps you asleep. I'm having the same problem, but I'm staying off meds. You can try melatonin pills too. Other than that, you're screwed.

Don't drink before you go to bed, it will just wake you up shortly after that.

There is a non-prescripton remedy available from your grocery store. It's called "Simply sleep".
It's from the tylenol company or you can get the generic one which i use made from equaline.

Does it work, most of the time it's effective. The things to cut out a few hours before you go to sleep are alcohol, sweets and anything with caffeine. I know, everything that makes you happy, lol. I have used this stuff for quite awhile since I got sick of taking regular sleeping pills. The directions say to take 2 tabs but it takes 5-6 for me. Anymore then that and you will go thru alot of kicking and **** becuase it will have negative effect before you get knocked out for sleep. It does work and it's cheap too.

I've had insomnia lately too. I've had entire nights were I never fall asleep. I just stare at the ceiling and watch the clock.

I'm pretty sure mine is anxiety/stress related. My doctor prescribed me Klonopin. I'm going to fill the Rx tonight. We'll see how it works.

well...maybe if you attempt to ********** for hours and hours, you'll make your arms sore...then you'll feel like a hot bath to quell the aches...then you'll lie there and fall asleep...in the hot water.

Actually...scratch that idea....narcotics and full bathtubs don't mix...

Sex or forplay puts me right out and that is a good sleep aid. Which is why I'm not sleeping great lately but oh well.

Maybe this lack of sleep among Rotary owners is from all the anxiety of constantly wondering when the currently installed engine is going to let go?

Are you happy? I know sounds like a ******* ***** question to ask, but I'm serious. When my ex and I broke up 3 months ago (we lived together for the past 1 1/2 years), I moved to santa barbara, and was totally stressed out, didn't know anyone, and was depressed. I got really bad insomnia, and was up all night long I would sleep from like 4 am to 7 am get up and go to school from 9 am to 9 pm then do it all over again.
I've recently met someone new, and honestly I'm a much happier person, and I fall asleep quickly and sleep all night...just saying, maybe you need someone, not something...Okay thats about as much of me as Dr. Phil as I can take...excuse me whilst I go pop an Ambien, lol.

Oh yeah, I'm totally down for 3 am denny's runs.
