Anyone in the Bay want to help me install a Downpipe?

I've had this M2 downpipe sitting in my garage for too long and I want to put it on... and after calling around some shops I think I rather just do it myself.

If anyone has any experience installing DPs on FDs, let me know if you have the time to help

Compensation will be given as needed

just a word of advise. If you already know this please excuse me.
-Make sure that with the older fd's, the fd with tons of miles on them that when you go to remove the 4 studs off of the oem manifold make sure that to allows some time for some type of spray to break the seal on the studs from the mani(avoid broken studs, this is pretty common and is a simple install that can really turn into a royal pain in the ***)
-while you doing the D/p install if you know that your O2 senor has lots of mileage on it put on a new senor they are cheap enough.

Good luck-and I hope you already have a Boost controller installed to avoid creeps and spikes after a d/p install which is a common result.

I could not have said it any better myself. I encountered that problem the hard way. I had to tow my car to Rick's Rotary and even Rick was having one hell of a time, trying to get one of the studs off. The last resort was to drill out the stud, and that is exactly what he had to do. Fun times!

Thanks for the tips... yeah I've been hearing about the studs problem a lot

My car is fairly low mileage so hopefully everything is fresh. When I put on my cat back, the bolts came off like butter

Also, from what I've heard, a boost controller doesn't necessarily help keep down boost creep/spiking, it's mainly for people who want to increase their boost?

there are many thread around this forum that should point out to you that after installing a D/P 1 of the after affects are boost creep and spikes. With the increased outlet diameter of your D/P in order for you to maintain your 10-8-10 OEM boost pattern you will need to implement a boost controlling system. you might want to opt for a MBC install if you are trying to avoid installing a EBC.
But spikes and creep is eminent with the removal of the precat and main cat.
Good luck.
