anybody with a bridgeport in san diego?
i'm debating whether to do a turbo swap or go with a halfbridge n/a setup. i'm pretty much 90% of the way there to completing my turboswap but i just got pulled over the other day and they made me pop my hood and it got me to thinking that this turbo setup might not be the way to go.
My turbo setup is:
s5 turbo block, manifolds
haltech e6x
garrett t4 turbo with a custom exhaust manifold so the turbo sits off to the side of the motor
FMIC with a turboxs bov
550cc primary with 1600cc secondaries
and all i need to finish it is:
side seal springs
solid corner seals
and to port my motor. i already have streetporting templates for the exhaust and intake.
i'm thinking that the benefits of having a half-bridgeported n/a would be:
more power than the stock s4 n/a motor i have
less prone to state ref tickets because i won't have a fat turbo sitting under my hood
more reliability
but i'm aware of most of the downsides such as:
no low-end torque, (that's why i'm wondering if i take a ride in a bridgeported car)
increased volume of noise
so if i went with a halfbridgeport n/a setup, all i have to do is the porting and i pretty much have everything else that's needed. So does anybody have any tips for making illegal setups more discrete? I'm already planning on putting the emission components over the block-off plates and just having vacuum hoses running to eachother and just putting on the rats nest and doing the same thing. Does anybody in San Diego have a bridgeported car that i could check out sometime? just to get the feel for it?
any help would be greatly appreciated
and smog sucks

Even with a quiet Racing Beat exhaust cops will hear your brappy idle and know its illegal. And you'd need more than just a stock setup to run a bridgeport if you want it to run well.
get an old school (75 and below). we dont get hazzle like the RX-7 boys. once you have a classic insurance, cops know that its not a ricer.

true. well i guess for now i'll just stick with the streeport and just make my setup look stock.... with the use of non-operational emission equipment and the rats nest and maybe some heatshields, but one day i'll get a rx4.
