correct, when we say record, we mean current record for the current track. they tend to keep the layout the same for a few weeks. but yeah, if they took out a tire section, then the track is no longer then same and Jesses 49.4 compared to mine and robs times is no longer a valid comparison. taking out a tire section would drop the times assuming nothing else was added or changed from the track last week.

also I agree, timing with a stop watch will get you close, but not close enough. with a stop watch you can be accurate to about .2 seconds, which is close, but when you have one guy timed at a 52.2 and another at a 52.4, it makes it hard to say who was really faster. (now of course if one guy gets a 50.00 and another gets a 53.00 yeah the guy with the 50.00 was faster!

its all about having fun there, no need for transponders and such. sure it would be nice, but not needed. now when they start running for money, you bet I want a transponder, I dont want to loose because some dude sitting on a stop watch decided to stop my time a little late, and the guy behind me a little early.
