Those look like Shooter/Dry wall screws for holding the skirt on.

See that is the problem with those body shops in SoCal... Hack jobs, every one of them

no all. but most yes.

and yes those are drywall screws holding the side skirts on.

that and wood bracing

and i sweat the fisheyes runs and orange peel is ridiculous a monkey on crack could have done better

WTF!?!?! I Designs is supose to be a very reputable shop. Their shop is down the street from my house. They painted the time attack hankook JIC s15 .wtf!?! for sure it wasnt prepped, and it was clearly last minute work. That guy is shady as hell! Ucan tell that itwasnt even sanded, itwas straight up sprayed while itwas on the car,and the masking job must be poor cuz all the overspray.... the aero was on tehcar when he painted, and he didnt even spray enough clear and it already had runs.... what a noob. supose to spray one coat of clear and let it sit for 15 min. then spray the 2nd coat to prevent runs and orange peel... im suprised... i always heard good stuff from em...

yeah, most piston guys probably would think so... You know most of them hack in their motor so anything anybody else does just looks fine in comparison.

being that i used to work in the bodykit industry..

1. He bought an aftermarket kit.. they never fit 100%..
2. I doubt it was a jdm brand name kit.. more then likely wont even fit right
3. He did not test fit it himself... he could have easily did this himself during an afternoon or weekend to do the proper adjustments himself, usually all you need is a dremel to trim off excess here and there.
4. Once thats done, he would have been able to mount it himself, which he would have the satisfaction of not loaning his car to goons or anybody else..
5. Go to teh shop with the car but tell them you just want the pieces sprayed individually, and you will just pick them up when they are finished and put them on yourself.
6. All done, problem prevented and if there was any mistakes in the paint, it would have been easily noticeable during time of pick up inspection where he could dispute any of it.


Alot of shops will just do whatever to get teh job done and out.... unless your investing a few thousand, they will let any of the employees touch it.

Thats how i did my 240sx, I had the whole car sprayed at maaco, but i did all the body kit adjustments myself *being a ricer, i rocked the bodykit unpainted on the car for a year, but this allowed the kit to settle down and gave me time to make the car fit like a glove almost*. I paid over $900 to have maaco paint my car and i gave them the fenders, sideskirts, front and rear bumper, as well as rear spoiler seperate and told them to spray it all seperate off the car and i will just pick them up when its all ready.. The bodykit came out perfect... i used a truck to pick up the body parts and wrapped them up for the trip, and just drove my car all bare naked home *had old fenders and bumper on the car so it didnt look too bad*.

if i had a body shop, id turn down bodykits even if it hurt business... cant take the risk of fitting shitty kits and getting complaints *theres gaps what did you do?*.. Gotta pay way more to have a shop even think of trying to make corrections.

while i understand where you are coming from he paid a shop to do work that they obviously didnt. the shop is 100% in the wrong here.

I was also in the autobody business and can vouch for what Hypertek is saying. No body kit is going to fit perfectly, even brand name ones that retail for stupid amounts of money. That too is also why I do all of my own work. I painted my red car yellow and did all the work myself on account of the fact that I don't trust any body shops to do anything. My mistake though, I forgot to paint my engine bay the same color as my car.

Thats true, sometimes you have a busy schedule and just want a pro to take care of it for you *when you think hes a pro*.

I dont understand why the shop would put the kit on the car, then mask everything off and spray it. I would think they could have just color matched the paint and sprayed the parts on horses or something then slapped em on.

I showed this pic to my friend who is a car purchaser at carmax, and he said they would consider this to be frame damage

If you pay $250 for all that 'work' and expect anything other than what the pics show, you need to have your head examined.
