3 Piece Wheels - Increasing Width by Getting a Wider Lip (Outer Barrel)

so i recently came up on some Work Equips thanks to Jaime and i was wondering if it's possible to increase the width/lower the offset by getting a custom lip made?

if so, where would i be able to do this?

i already went to Bolton's Classic Wheels but they told me they don't do that...

so i was just wondering if there's any other local areas around here that would.

they're currently 16x7 and 16x8. i plan on increasing each wheel 1" since that's ~25mm.

should be good enough to make up for these wheels that are currently ~+40-37 offset...

here is a pic of the wheels.

and for those who went to the cruise... you guys saw the rears. they're pretty tucked in...

i've counted 36 rivets around the wheel that holds it all together....

i've searched google and other forums and they mentioned this place in Canada before...

http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/

but i believe that's only for their type of wheels.

however, getting that custom lip is definitely what i'm after.

also considering maybe shortening the front inner barrels a bit because width.

after throwing some 205/55s in the front, it rubbed against my spring.

at least with the 195/55, it works out fine.

NOTE: i plan on only widening the lip. increasing width in the inner barrel will also result in increasing the offset = more rubbing problems

you are going to have a hard time doing this. i have the same wheels they are the older style work equip with the lip being part of the face. the newer style work equips are all the wide ones you see. RBwheels was going to widen mine but they only have the newer style barrels/lips.

@-=Lil Red=-, Thank you for posting that information. Really informative, as I'm in the same boat as the op.

@TheAbsence, Thank you for posting those photos. Without them I wouldn't have realized the difference between wide, and narrow barrels.

@finishline, Thank you for starting this thread.

I'm in the same boat, Kent, but I just ended up buying a second set and I hope to Mix the 2.

I know it's probably pricey, but try a custom CNC shop. http://www.pendarvismanufacturing.co..._for_quote.php

Also have you considered running the rears on the front and just getting new rears? Might cut your costs in half.

title is misleading. this is about rims, not increasing the size of your lips by slurping. lolllllllllllllll

Hey Kent...since I had issues with the Weds I bought last month with the size not being what was advertised and the 2 that were really bent;
I was looking to repair the rims and getting them widened. I found a local guy that can narrow and widen aluminum rims. Not sure if I can post a link so just get in touch with me or I can send the link to Jaime on aim......

Too much trouble imo. Just find the right rims with the width/offset you'd want in the first place Kent.

for sure. keep me posted about that. i know jaime hit you up too regarding longer studs so i can rock some spacers instead. actually one of the rear passenger side lip is slight bent. but that's coo, still works. if anything, i'm really looking for a custom lip that's "plug-n-play" to be made.

this was a gift from va-jaime. can't really pass up the offer either. it'll definitely take some time to find the right people and connections to get this done IF it can happen...

gotta really search around for the good deals bro. we'll keep lookin' around until we find the right place. let's hope i won't be spending money just as much as it costs to buy another set of good wheels with nice specs. we'll keep our heads up for this one tho.
