it's sad that they won't admit that even attempting to put in a raceway would help the situation.

there was supposed to be a raceway put in here in norcal, it got shot down by locals who didn't want to put up with the noise. it was supposed to be one of the largest complexes in the US.

all they can do is try to stop it, they never will though. but thinking they can't help makes them look like fools, because they are.

the worst was when the cops sat outside of the drag strip at sacramento raceway and were pulling people over for modifications. how stupid can you be trying to divert people away from racing safely..

Altough I dont like drag racing very much, I think there should be more tracks available where people can go a few times a week to race instead of getting their fix on the street. Too bad Pomona isnt available for everyone to race. I think the home owners near the track complained about the noise and the track was pretty much closed to the public. I think this is stupid because top fuel dragsters can run on the track and can be heard for miles. I live almost 4 miles away and can hear the dragsters clearly from my house. I doubt the buzzing exhausts of street legal cars can make that much noise pollution, especially over the sound of the small airport thats next to the track, to be very annoying to home owners.

That old guy in the video saying he wont allow a track to be built no matter what the size is is a douche. The city probably enjoys all the revenue that street racing brings in via handing out tickets for everything and anything.

^ well said, its ******* stupid. they say why do people street race. theres no close tracks. specailly in the LA area(torrance, compton, venice, LA, long beach, gardena, etc)..

so obviously every one is gonna do it illegally, because closest thing is irwindale, but traffic is horrible to get there..

they have to realize that, they can make sooo much money opening a track. which can cause more revenue for the city/state.

but till those douches realize that... we wont see **** for a long time..

Here's one thing that can be used against building more race tracks:

The few times I've been to Irwindale with my friend for the drag races, I've seen cops pulling people over outside of the track or on the freeway. We've never been pulled over going to the track or leaving the track so I can't say why these people were pulled over but I have seen many people leaving the track at high speeds and jumping on the freeway at full throttle. I've been passed up by cars racing on the streets there and on the freeway after the track has closed for the night. Its stupid for people to do that **** and its those very same people that will start hooting and hollering once the track closes down and will start crying because they have nowhere to race legally. I've witnessed the same thing at Fontana.

Each city can say that building a drag strip can make it dangerous for the general public because of these idiots that need to drag race all the way to the track and from the track putting everyone at risk. Cops should patrol the area making sure these idiots get caught but they shouldnt use that as an excuse to hand out a hundred tickets for tint or for being lowered just because they need to meet a quota.

People get hyped up too easily and common sense goes out the window. It's like the douche bags that go see a UFC fight and on the way out of the place start all kinds of fights thinking theyre Chuck Liddell.
