[AZ crew] FD Motor breakdown / install invite.

Hey... long time, no see (from me)...

I know that some of you have heard me say [a long time ago] that I was going to setup a time that people can come over on a weekend and have a chance to see a long block be broken down, reassembled and then installed into a FD.

Some of you have not had a chance to experience such and showed interest. Well... it's that time and if I don't do it quick I'll have to install AC in my garage to get it done.

I have a long block (not even sure it works to be quite honest... it did when it was taking out of the car it came from though) sitting on a pallet that I am going to break down and then put my parts on. Then I will be putting it in my FD and putting everything back together and finally turning the key to see what happens. I have pulled and installed several motors, (even assisted w/ other peoples several times) so hopefully things will go smooth.

I'm not asking for help from people but if you would like to get your hands dirty with some hands-on I don't have a problem with that.

This is a opportunity for those that have not gotten a chance to experience the joys ( ) of the FD motor. If you just want to come and hang out and BS about cars your also more than welcome to.

I figure that we could all setup in my driveway... setup some misters and get the BBQ grill fired up.

I need to see what the level of interest is and pick a weekend to pull this off. I’m also wondering what parts people are interest in watching. For instance, if no one cares to see a long block disassembled then I will do that myself first.

I’m going to use this thread as a place of communication so just reply here. I live over on the Northwest valley (around the Arrowhead area).

I also have my FD motor that I'm rebuilding in pieces so we can setup a table and you can see what they look like apart. I invite people to bring cameras and video cameras if you want... it's just a opportunity to have a good time

What better details are you refering to.

I'm posting this to see how much interest there is. A weekend has not been picked because if there is no interest anymore than I'll just do it whenever. There are no dates (yet).

I have a fully loaded motor sitting in my garage (ac, ps, wp, turbos). I'm going to strip that motor down to just the block. Then reassamble the block (probally with the parts from my block because I know they work ) and install it into my car.

No... I don't expect that it will be hard. I'm just opening it up to others because some people showed interest before and have not had a chance to see it in person.

I'm located at 67th ave and Happy Valley.

I just got off the phone with Tim and have decided on the weekend of May 7th.
I will be getting thing together and preparing over the next couple of weeks. Need to get my fluids and clean everything up. I'm going to create a more formal invite here in the next day or so that I will send out with address info date and time.

Yup

I have all the tools needed. (or should ) I have pulled, stripped and installed the FD motor several times so I'm hoping everything goes well. I have these next couple of weekends to cleanup the garage (thats gonna be fun :-/) and get all of my old parts out and ready to go. I'm actually working to setup on having one of those beach 10x10 foldout canopys to cover part of the driveway so people can be in shade. I live on the corner and there are no houses on the other side of the end street so there are PLENTY of parking spaces.... we can end up with a whole road (bothsides) covered in rotary.

Really all the other times that I have done it I only had one other set of hands. I should be good but if you want to get your hands dirty than I'm more than ok with it.

Sorry I disappeared for a few days. I got that darn flu that was going around. It didn't stop me from getting the garage all cleaned up though. Should have plenty of room now to get things done!

If your still interested in attending this weekend send me a PM with your email address and I will send you an email that has the address and times!
