We have started working on the headlights, should be a few more weeks now. :icon_tup:
I'll post some pics at some point soon

Hoping for first week of November. Thanks for all the hard work so far SBG.

Ohh I'm so excited for this. FC owners getting quality lighting! I price quoted for a s2k retro for my integra I had and it was going to be upwards of $1000 so this for $800 is a steal, especially with the level of quality that sakebomb garage does!

By the way, any production pics yet? :)

Not yet, we're just getting into them. We're aiming for 3 weeks to ship. Unfortunately we are running behind schedule. We're working as fast as we can though. -Heath

i see it. i like it.

question though is...
what is the difference between me buying a projector housing off of ebay(http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-87...Q5fAccessories)

and then buying the HID BI-Xenon kit (www.hidextra.com)...

wouldnt this be the same thing? correct me if i'm wrong.

MaczPayne 10-21-10 02:39 PM

The differences are described pretty well in the beginning of this thread...

i've read it.
dont get me wrong, i understand the differences between this kit(projectors) vs. hid kits and (reflectors).

what im referencing is the projector headlights with the hid kits.
isn't this the same thing?

???

the headlight housing looks similar to me.
are u saying that the headlight housing should be flat and not curved?

link below leads me to here: http://turbometal.com/lighting/proje...-h4-bulbs.html

looks the same to me. i'm not trying to argue. i just want to know if what im proposing will give same or comparable results.
not everyone has 700 to blow on lights.

You're buying a housing - which isn't a true projector housing, and using it with HID's: neither of which were designed to work with each other. The result? Poor beam distribution, poor lighting, blinding light to oncoming drivers, etc.

^Right those are offered for our cars because we have stock OEM sealed beam headlights. When the bulb burns out you buy a complete new housing or beam.

With these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-87...Q5fAccessories it makes it possible to use these www.hidextra.com.

The difference between that and SBG is in the housing, which has an Infiniti FX PROJECTOR installed in an up to date designed H4 housing, which is what our FC's accept in the stock headlight location.

and these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-87...Q5fAccessories look like the same quality as fucking Play Doh that has been sitting out for a month, straight garbage.

EatSomeCake 10-22-10 01:26 AM

Basically the difference is that the SBG one's are quality and feature an fx-r projector, which is a projector designed specifically for oem hid headlights. The advantages of an oem setup is it has been designed specifically to focus the hid beam to give you the most useable light with no glare to other drivers. The ebay "projector headlights" are in fact not true hid projectors. They are knock off's that are not engineered for an hid bulb. The "bi xenon plug and play kits" are again knock offs, and not designed to oem standards. The bi xenon function is actually performed by the projector, not the bulb. So in short the difference between the ebay setup and the SBG set up is quality. SBG are engineered to produce a crisp, wide, bright beam, while the ebay version is designed to attract customers to buy a falsely advertised product. I hope that helps, -Alex

Looks like it's gonna take longer than thanksgiving... I had a family member pass away recently so we've gotten behind. I'll have a better estimate shortly, but rest assured we are working on them. I've got a 4x16 foot table full of projectors at the moment, and another with wiring harnesses being modified. :egrin:

BurntOrangeT2 11-07-10 01:44 PM

Sorry to hear that Heath, your family has my condolences.

llRyOsUkEll 11-08-10 10:27 AM

My condolences, heath. appreciate the effort you are putting in to get these HID kits done.

RotorMotor 11-09-10 10:24 PM

^Thanks guys! We're getting back to them now so I'll have some news soon.
