BorgWarner SX-E Turbocharges available for pre-order
Borgwarner is now allowing us to make pre-orders on the new SX-E lineup of airwerks turbochargers.
These come as a super-core( no turbine housing). They use the same turbine housing as the standard S200 or S300 airwerks turbochargers. So if you already have an S200SX-7670, S300SX-360/363(also known as S362), or S366 you can reuse your old turbine housing as simple bolt this new unit in as an upgrade.
Turbine housings are $220-240 MSRP per unit depending upon size.
These new SX-E turbocharges are basically what will eventually replace the current airwerks cast wheel lineup, and is an entry level journal bearing turbocharger.
How do they differ from your current airwerks unit?
FMW billet compressor wheel( same as the EFR) around a %10 increase in RWHP from our experience
Updated Aero compressor cover with built in pressure source port, and shaft speed sensor port( machining a shaft speed sensor port is around $300 if you don't have this port FYI)
The compressor cover discharge can be cut to be used as a vband connection( no welding required, but it does have to be cut off). Generally its not wise to weld on a compressor cover as it can tweak the cover with so much heat.
BW spent quite a lot of time with different compressor covers to maximize their performance. I spoke in person at our shop to one of the BW reps about it, and I was quite impressed with how much time and money was spend on the compressor cover design in terms of compressor flow. There is a lot more to the compressor cover than I ever imagined!
How are these units different than the EFR lineup?
Non-ball bearing
No Gammi-Ti turbine wheel
No built in boost control solenoid
No built in BOV( technically a recirc)
No IWG option, No vband inlet options, no T3 options
EFR are 3" flat faced standard performance vband( SX-E are 3.5" marmon, 3" vband available at $150 extra).

These units are a direct bolt in to our current Airwerks turbo kits; and from what I have seen you can expect 10% increase in RWHP.

In stock now, and you can also upgrade to an SX-E in the airwerks turbo kits! Current wait time is only two weeks on turbo kits!!
