Will LS2 fit directly to replace LS1 in FD?
Hi,
Buzzed a rod bearing in my LS1 stock engine in a FD. I am considering replacing with a LS2 short block, isntead of rebuilding.
Currently LS1 sits on a Hinson setup and motor mounts. Will the LS2 have the same mounting geometry for replacing the current motor? Is Oil pan is the same too? I want to try to not refabricate the mountings.
I know there a few differences with valley, front, and rear covers, and knock sensor lead. Will my current '02 Camaro computer work also?
Thanks.

Jolly, seems like there are a good number of guys doing the LS2 into FD using the standard install kits (Hinson, ect). As you've identified, most of the challenges seem to be sensor / throttle cable / ecu related.
Try Torquecentral for the mounting questions and LS1TECH for the sensor / ecu questions.
Good Luck

You need to relocate te knock sensors and get a cam sensor wiring harness through racetronix so it will run off your ls1 harness and ecu. Go to Torque Central for more specific info on the swap.
