Thinking of doing an rx7 v8 swap, how can I sell the stock motor and tranny ect for?
Hi,I'm new to the whole rx7 thing, but I have a freind who is a part time mechanic and he offered to help me do the swap, for beer and gas money.I just have to buy the parts.I am looking for an rx7 to do the swap into.
THe thing is it's hard finding a good rolling chassis,in MI anyway,so If I bought a rx7 in good condition that ran,how much do you think on average I could sell the engine trany and whatever else I don't need?most I see have about 140,000 miles on them,I figure since you guys did it you could kinda give me an idea of what I could get out of the parts I don't need.
Just trying to put together a budget.
Thanks

I'd leave the rotary in the car while you advertise it, so people could test drive it.
Helps to have receipts for any recent work (motor/turbo/trans rebuild).
I sold my blown rotary/trans with 116k miles for $1k on e-bay, a couple years ago.
It went to a used parts dealer in Texas, so I guess I sold it too cheap.
You'll waist a lot of time with teenage dreamers on this site, but might have better luck than me, on e-bay
