your ambition is admirable and that car has really come a long way.
Im sure whatever you do to it will be great.
Just remember that there comes a point with these cars that TOO much power and you really take away from the fun of being able to drive it, it turns more into a chore.
As you already know traction is a issue with that car ( im sure your new tires are better then the stiff ones that were on there before ) But seeing 2 turbos under there would be great.
No matter what anyone says a LT1 has a better sound then a LS motor and you have already exceeded the power most LS swaps end up with.

With the Nitto Drag Radial traction isn't that bad to be honest.
1st gear is useless if you floor it but after that if you're careful enough and smart on the throttle you can make it hook pretty good.
I really want you to try the car with the new setup but looks like it won't happen this year.

Wow that is a beautiful car, I am planning to swap a LT1 in my Rx7. So the car has been from Minnesota thats where I am from . Given its age did it have any rust when you got it?

Like it is right now I can lift 53" high but if I remove the storage box above the car I will gain about 16" so I'll be able to get 69" under the car but to be honest 53" is more then I was expecting since I have a very low ceilling ( 109" ) and before all I have was couple floor jacks and stands so I'd say depending of your ceilling height you may be able to store a car under.
For me it is perfect for what I do .

Oct 2012.
Updating this thread to keep everything about my car in one place.
I have swapped Camshaft from a : 223/230 .565/.565 112 LSA to a 228/236 .576/.572 110 LSA and today we made a small video of the new sound with the camshaft .
..Video here..
My friend took also a bunch of pictures that I will throw here later on.
3rd year with this project car and love every minute of it.

Here's some pictures taken Nov. 2012 .
The look of the car hasn't change much since march 2011 when the first pictures or this thread were taken except that I have accumulated over 20,000 KM in 2 season of driving.

I haven't took pics. of the interior since it is exactly the same as last year ( see previous page ) .
We're Nov 10 2012 right now so my RX7 driving season is almost over .
No major project for 2012/2013 winter as of right now.

While you're bumping this thead I'll update it.
I've been working on the car since Dec 2012 for a complete motor overhaull and some upgrades so here a few pictures.
I have replaced the engine block , refresh the heads with new Double springs , new clutch setup and misc. ARP bolts a little everywhere .
1st time I remove a complete powertrain from under.
Easiest thing I ever done .
Here's my new bone stock LT1 block with 500,000 KM ( not a typo ) .
New clutch setup .
Back from the machine shop
Back together.
