Spooky ignition...

Hey Guys,

I just swapped a bad holly carb for a nice Q-jet on my rx7. The Q-jet has an electric choke that I needed to run power to, so I cut into a wire on the extreme driver's side of the engine bay. It's a black with yellow line wire wich is hot with the ingnition in the run position. I had used that same wire earlier to run my electric fans, so now I have two power sorces tapped into that wire...
When I go to turn the car off now, it keep running for about 3~5 seconds, even with the key out. When I first put the fans in my dad told me one day he was having this same problem, but fooled with something under the hood around those wires and fixed it, but he doens't know what he did.
Any help would be great, as I have no idea what's causeing this. We're also noticing a drop in voltage from the battery (in the spare tire space) to our remote syliniod under the hood... the mazda alt. puts out 14.3 volts... which drops to about 13.85 at the syliniod, and only 12.2 at the battery? The volt meter only shows about 11 when the car running. The battery is good, it was just checked the other day... but it's not getting a good charge, and we know the alt is fine too. I think these problems are all related. But I don't know where to start.
For a side note, I have used / followed Granny's wireing plans on the car, I didn't just guess and do it myself.

thanks,
brandon

p.s. Car pulls VERY hard with the q-jet... but it's not making that cool sound when the secondaries open???
