Second Gen LS1 6 Speed Swap

Friends and i have a new project car. A 1987 RX7 GXE. We thought it would be unique, for our city, to have a 6 speed LS1 RX7. Between the 5 of us we know a great deal about cars. Mostl Civics, 86 1/2 Supras, and S-10s. But we have no idea on how to swap a LS1 into a RX7. I need a detail list of what parts we need, besides the engine and tranny of course. Also what items are better. I know there are many mounting kit, so i have questiosn there. I mean from the battery, radiator, to the exhaust. Thanks

wrong forum ..most people here think putting a v8 in a rx7 is the worst thing in the world. Go to torquecentral.com and post.

If my rotary pops after this rebuild it's LS1 city for me as well. I'm not rebuilding this rotary again.

Holy S### Dltreezan! That is the sweetest body kit on an FC I have ever seen. Sorry that this is off topic but who makes that kit?

That's a nice photochop. The kit looks a bit inspired by a late model Camaro- at least in the headlight region.

Loving the side treatment- that is very tight.

Why you want to do that?
Are you planning on stuffing a V8 in there too?
You mention you have enough experience to handle cars, but you have no clue how to do this?
Shame on you for asking such a question...

There's one just like that (LS1 w/6spd) on eBay right now. Looks beautiful. Current bid is $12,300. Maybe the seller can help you.

I recently got done with one. We have a 350-6 speed. The main problem we had was cooling it. Obvioulsy the stock radiator wont work. I went around and found a 4 core radiator. I have a push and pull high volume electric fan on there. Due to the hook clearance, you can not use a engine fan. You have to take the seats out and drill new holes for the tranny mount. the battery has to be relocated. We had some firewall issues. Due to the distibutor i was running, we couldnt time it. there wasnt enough room to twist it. the six speed lines up perfect into the shifter hole. You may need a new master cylinder for your clutch. It barely has the power. We used the rx-7 slave and master but had to make a bracket for the slave. Watch what headers you use. its a close fit. You wont have a speedometer or tach. They output on the t-56 is electrical and the rx-7 uses mechanical.

here are some pics of mine

I know my car isnt the best looking rx but It is currently getting painted. I wasnt too worried about hook clearance. I spent roughly 6-7k on the engine. I used a Findenza lightweight flywheel. It is build to be supercharged. It has since been fuel injected, and I have a supercharger for it. I hope to be pushing 800-900 hp.

any ?
