Newer vortec 5300 questions

I am gonna do the 5.3 swap but i have some questions I am hoping you guys can answer. I was going to buy a 2007 vortec 5300 oit of a avalanche. It's e85 capable. I was reading somewhere saying the crank shaft was shortened on this year and newer and that it will have problems mating to a t56 or t5. I know the t5 is weak and will have issues with the power but atm a t56 is out of the question. Is it possible to mate the new 5.3 to the t5 or am I out of luck. If so is there any other transmission that will mate. Manual Ofcourse.

I think you will be ok. I am not 100% sure if there was a crank change, but I know I have seen guys use newer 5.3s and manual transmissions without issue.

You can get a T5 to work, but you will need a hydraulic conversion of some kind.

No crankshaft changes. The only LS series with a different crank is the very early 6.0s, and those generally have iron heads (99/00 only). Not common.

Also some of the later supercharged motors have 8 bolt cranks instead of 6. LSA/LS9/etc. Again, not relevant to your question.
