new to the dark side

I will be acquiring a 85 gslse this weekend.

This is an engine fire victim that will be a donor for a v8 swap.

Like most, my target is a diy budget project hoping to arrive in at under $1200 finished.

I have a buddy who did the swap and hope to copy his mounts.

Picked up a healthy 327 with a mild cam for $300

Good line on a 200r4 for $120 as well

Nice deals on the engine/trans! Can't wait to see the "build thread".

If time and budget permit you may want to look into an axle swap as well, its not absolutely nessesary but the swappable gears would help keep your cruise rpms at a reasonable level. My ford 5.0 T5 combo spins 3500 rpm at 75mph which makes me feel a little uneasy on longer trips, it also isn't doing any favors for my mpg either. Can't wait to see how your project turns out, either way it'll be an awesome street car that can tear up the dragway with a set of meats.
