My Free Rx7

Here it goes. I got a '85 with a 13b rotary that runs pretty good, but it leaks. I also have a 400sb chevy and a couple turbo 350 trannys. I figure since I got the car for free and I have chevy parts laying around, I am thinking about a conversion. I hear its not that difficult and one can by a kit for the conversion. Does anyone knows if the stock exhaust manifold will fit, or do I have to buy the $400 headers? And will the rearend hold up to a 300hp engine?

leaks what? oil im going to guess?

takin a bit of a risk asking about sticking something with pistons into a 7. I had thot there was a piston section of this website where those guys have done more on the piston conversion side but i cant seem to find it. might be on a different forum

And on the rear end holding up 300hp. i think 250 was the max someone found out but there are various sites that have a ford 8.8" rear end conversion kit or something similar. Use the search function. there have been a number of threads on rear ends and what horsepower and level of difficulty.

also where is it leaking oil from or near? check the faqs, lists the common leak places and how easy it is to repail them

Smile 13b motor

I have a 1985 RX7. I was wanting to put the 13b motor in but only have a 12a. Would you be interested in getting rid of the 13b? Thanks, Zach

Several V8 RX7s are running under 9s with stock rear ends, 300 is usually fine depending upon abuse
