Motor choices for V8 swap

Hello....new to this section of the forum and the whole swap thing...
Anyway, I'm interested in picking up a FD to do a V8 swap and had some questions(doesn't everyone that I haven't found in my searches(yes, I have used the search button.....several times in fact.
First off, are the wiring harnesses/PCM interchangeable btw auto and 6spd cars, ie- will there be any problems using a T56 w/ a 4L60E harness/PCM? And are there any differences btw the LS1 5.7L and Gen III 6.0L truck harnesses/PCM, ie- can I use a 6.0L truck block and harness/PCM(4L60E/4L80E) w/ a T56?
Second, what are the realistic expectations to be able to use FI, specifically turbos, w/ this swap? I've read some posts where it's been done, but from what I've gathered it's a real PITA. I also read the Jimlab is making a subframe that moves the engine farther back towards the firewall. Will this provide room up front for a couple of turbos and the associated plumbing? The possibility of using FI will determine whether I use an iron or aluminum block?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Scott
