ls1 swap in first gens?

if this topic has been covered, then it must be well hidden in the archives. i have been doing some searching of this topic in both the first gen forum, swap forum, and oven the world wide web and haven't come up with a lot of info on the topic. all the info i find is on 3rd gen's and a few 2nd gens

so here is my question. has anyone done a ls1 swap on these cars? know of someone who has? knows where to find info on a swap?

i am toying with the idea and would like some more info. not sure if i would go with a t56 trans or maybe a 2nd or 3rd gen trans...and im sure i will have to custom fab mounts

but yes...any info would really help me out guys

You need to look in "Other Engine Conversions" that is where V8 and other piston swaps belong. Moving this thread there. You should be able to find what you need there.

check out nelson racing engines. nelsonracingengines.com better than LS1... how about a twin turbo 427? and i thought grannys has an LS1 kit. grannysspeedshop.com i would check but that site is blocked at my work. anyway i personally would just go 350. Or 383 stroker either way it would be cheaper than an LS and easier.

There are a few guys here who have done it. They may be able to help. I believe there is an entire separate forum dedicated to v8 swaps for these and similar cars.

http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/ is a shop that makes parts to facilitate that sort of thing

Also, there are many on the forum who are cool with the v8 swap, but a bunch will not be so cool with it. this particular forum is rotorhead heaven, so many feel that v8 swap guys should find another place to hang. Just a heads up, you WILL catch some grief from many here.

i am entertaining the idea of an ls1 swap....this is not 100% garantee'd to happen at this point

looking at my options, i could very easily end up swapping in a 13b or even a nisson ca-18

its all up in the air right now, but the 12a needs to go

12A's kick ***, but if your certain you want to swap, how much you want for the 12A? Whats the milage. I want to find a rebuildable one so I can do a half bridge half streetport. Streetable power.
