ls1 swap
I 7000 in hand and i want a ls1 in my car badly. I can buy an ls1 right now for 4500 from some dude but how much money will i still need to drop on parts. or should i keep on saving up money and buy it straight from the dealer ship? i could really use the advice.

This question should be asked in the other engines conversion section, but your best bet would be to go http://www.torquecentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11 to get all the advice you'll need.
Also, stop by http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/partsMainFCRX7.htm and get a general pricing for the things you'll need. Simple searching for things such as "Ls1 swap" should yield you sufficient information here.

if u search around u can find engine and tranny for a bit cheaper. also there are ways to cheapen the swap but it will still cost a decent amount. not sure but do u have the rx7 yet? u can get money for the engine and tranny out of that. i just completed mine and it took me about 2 months total, that was waiting for parts to be made etc.
ive never driven a rotary rx7 so i cant tell you the diff but ive had ka24de-t's, rb20det, and rb25det. its a lot different than those i must say. ill sell ya mine if ur interested...i want to try another one.

i take it to the oil change place. i tell them not to change the filter when i go. when the oil is clean it shouldnt need to be filtered and it saves me a couple dollars.
