LS1 motor pics so far
Well, here I am so far.
I have the Patriot heads on. I had to do some die grinding on the insides of the heads for the 1.7:1 Jessel rockers to not rub. I also put nice little blue pipe plugs in the coolant passages. You also have to do some fittment work to the valve covers.
Comp cam, pushrods and lifter are all in.
I am having an issue that maybe one of you guys can help me out with.
I also installed a Rollmaster double timing chain and a SLP LS6 oil pump. You have to use the shims on the oil pump that Rollmaster supplies.
Now the timing cover does not fit on properly. The front of the oil pump hits the cover, and I understand that you must maintain 22 thousands of clearance between the inside of the front cover and the oil pump.
Anyone else run into this issue?
