@chev-hell

I guess you never read Howard Coleman. Take a look at it.

I am really not a V8 hater, I am just asking myself about how deep you went in your research.
If you are more used with V8, go with it. But when you say : 'rotaries just don't last at all' you probably meant: 'Rotaries just don't last at all because their owners don't know how to use it in the good way.

lol...the time will come when your rotary pops my friend. The question is when are you gonna admit that.

I was a DIE HARD rotary mechanic..still am but compared to GM's LS platform, it falls way short. No BS, just hard to swallow truth.

Man what a blast from the past lol...

Oddly enough he never came back and gloated about his car being finished... I wonder why..

TT_Rotary you will NOT finish that project, you have shown that you have no idea what a massive project you are undertaking. Merlin is asking you very explicit questions about support mods and he is just skimming the surface.

I've seen KIDS like you here on the forum before. They go around bashing the rotary and praise the ls-fd's. They start arguing with everybody (sound familiar ;) ) because of their attitude. Soon enough they get their engine and tranny. They post up pics of the engine inside the bay. But is it hooked up? dunno but there a bunch of shit missing.. months go by and nothing, no word. They still post but nothing about their swap other than it's coming along. After a while they just disapear. That's your future right there. I'm telling you again bro: sell your car and buy an already running ls-fd. Otherwise YOU will remember me telling you I TOLD YOU SO. :)

Ok TT_Rotary if you ever read this... See I told you so :p:

here is my thoughts......

if you want to do a LSX conversion do it clean period end of story, its your car but IMO when its all said and done the costs of swapping a "GOOD" strong LSX into the car your going to be thousands of dollars into it.

my choice has been and forever will be to stick to the rotary, with a solid build and high quality parts you'll have no issues with that amount of 7's ive worked on not once has a car came back due to seal failure. and were talking about hundreds of miles and countless dyno pulls and track and hard street driving. its all in the build and tune find a good builder spend the money for a clean single turbo conversion make 450+WHP and walk every LSX swapped car that does not have a fully built LSX with spray or forced induction

I have a bonestock Ls1 with a blower and headers making 512rwhp. She's been making boost for 24k miles and 4 years and still going strong at 131k miles. The thing about the LSX motors, you only have to do it once, if you do it right. No forced induction rotary motor is going to last 200-400k miles, and get you 25-30mpg on the freeway, while making 450+ rwhp. It just doesn't happen.

^Bone stock or not, I'm sure your car is more subtle to drive "daily" then anyway... Seriously even if it were possible to reach such miles on a turbo rotary I would not drive my RX-8 (SEMI P-PORTED/ STREET PORTED 13B TURBO) daily as I would eventually need ear plugs and the public would hate me.

The same can be said about a rotary if it is done right the first time although they still won't see 200,000+ miles. I have no knocks on any LSX, ls1, engines etc as they are great and will forever be great engines. Something about a nice loud deep BRAP,BRAP,BRAP makes me addicted to a rotary. .:egrin:

I've had some neighbors where I would wish a fully uncorked rotary on at 5am on a saturday morning hitting 9k+ rpms. :nod:
