My my my!!! You are a talented fellow. Makes me feel silly about what I am attempting... Everything you did was correct, and top notch! You are really an incredible fabricator. I wish you were in Washington so I could come drool in person.

This is definitely "the most detailed build thread," from the detailed pics and professional attention to detail to the commitment to doing it right the first time. The fabrication looks great.

Thanks for the time spent in sharing this build.

This is one of the best, if not the best build thread I've come across. Congrats on amazing work!

Kevin Doe 10-25-10 09:45 AM

You guys are too funny. Thanks for the compliments.

Nyt_Muves 10-28-10 12:12 AM

Well, I am ready to start my 83. It will be no where near this level, but I am doing it to my budgetary and skill constraints. Hope it is a tenth of what you have done here...

I am pulling the dead rotory out this weekend. Any tips for a first timer?

rotary_rob 11-06-10 10:34 PM

any new pictures or driving/sound clips... you leave me wanting more

I never thought I'd say this about an RX with a V8.. Bro, Hands down. This is just Ridiculous in the best of ways. Everything is just perfect. Keep up the good work. We are freaking enjoying every step of this swap..

Great post. Thanks a lot Kevin!

i never thought perfection can be achieved when you DIY, but here's a clear example

onewheelwonder1000 02-06-11 10:32 PM

omg i would give my left nut for this car

Kevin Doe 02-06-11 11:57 PM

Lets see what I have as far as sound clips or videos.

Here is a really old one, probably from 2008. Just a full throttle pull

Here is a video from an autox in 2009, back when I was using Koni Challenge slicks on my 17" wheels. Man, those tires really sucked.

Here is an autox video from 2010 on street tires. It was a test and tune and I wanted to compare my FD to my 350Z both on the same tires. I'm the guy with the flat black helmet, in the drivers seat of the Miata at first (showing my buddy how its done in his own car). The yellow 350z is mine as well, but in the video its a friend of mine driving it.

^^ That's a very cool video, nicely edited, couple different kinds of cars too. I like the slow mo burn out in the FD, awesome :) Didn't know you had a 350z as well. Sweet ass FD Kevin. Look forward to more videos of it in motion. BTW the autocross track you're on looks super fun, even has a little bit of elevation change, pretty cool

Awesome 2010 video Kevin! Great job on the editing. Your FD was a huge motivating factor in my FC build.

reamemiyav8 09-17-11 04:16 AM

inspiration for my car, and assuming many others. Fantasic attention to detail and no expense spared!

jayinpalmharbor 11-07-11 11:07 AM

i have a t56 from a f-body (in my FD) and have the MGW shifter and it feels like crap. have you had any trouble at all with yours? i just bought the car a few days ago so i think the guy must have messed up the install. least your pictures help me out with figuring what he did wrong. great build!

92boosted 12-02-11 08:18 AM

Very helpful build. Beautiful car
