Question how good is the FD oem temp gauge without the rotary?

SO i know the FD stock temp gauge with the rotary engine basically had 3 settings, cold, you're ok, and your screwed. with the LS1 swapped in, since it will have a GM sensor, will the gauge be more accurate, or is the desperate need for a water temp gauge still there, like with the rotary? thanks.

you cant use the gm coolant temp sensor for the GUAGE. you need to use the rx7 coolant temp sensor. i removed the plug fromt the passenger rear side of the cylinder head and adapted it to that. you can buy a scan guage if you want to monitor the coolant temp via the obd port. I believe there is also a "linear" mod you can do to the stock gauge so it reads smoother.
